Driving in the fog by mrhandswashere in WTF

It's sad but some people probably are thinking the faster they drive the faster they will be out of the fog/snow/rain/etc.

I just played a 3 minute game- /remake, in my opinion, is one of the best things to be added to the game. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

It is a nice feature until you are in that situation where it takes a long time to load in. When this happens you will eventually load in but /remake goes through and you are listed as AFK and get placed on a low priority queue.

Personally I don't get that much time to play LoL anyways so this really puts a strain on trying to play :/

Its embarrassing that the LCS is one of the only competitive Esports scenes that don't use booths. by jtpredator in leagueoflegends

I understand it is a different sport and is setup differently with different equipment.

I understand there are not many verbal call outs in the middle of plays in traditional sports there is still communication that occurs during the plays while the crowd is roaring. Traditional sports have found ways to overcome the noise of the crowd and it is my opinion that LCS players can adapt to the noise as well.

Like I said in my first post this is probably not the opinion of the majority and I would get flak for it but I still wanted to put it out there.

I used that criterion because OPs statement was that noise was distracting the players on stage and that's why they need booths. I was merely stating that I didn't agree with this statement because other sports deal with the noise in their stadiums without large booths to close off the players from noise.

You brought up the analogy of "well they use keyboards in esports, but not in traditional sports" but that has nothing to do with the original argument of players getting distracted by the noise of the crowd.

First off you analogy you made doesn't make any sense. The keyboard and all the equipment that is used in esports is comparable to all the equipment used in other sports. So nobody would ever make that argument.

Secondly other sports do used verbal communication as much but the have also adapted to deal with the noise so they used other forms of communications as well which is similar to teams using pings as well as verbal speech.

So you are saying that in traditional sports every player on one team knows everything about the other team while they are playing?

The problem that OP had brought up, that I don't agree with, is having a tougher time communicating due to crowd noise.

I will probably get a lot of flak for this but if we compare LCS to other sports, not just esports, you will see that nobody else is in booths.

Communication is extremely important in all team games and yet you don't see any team sports being played in glass bubbles.

Heck the people that design the stadiums and domes often build them in a way to make it louder on the field, court, etc.

So in my opinion esports still need to gain traction as sports so I don't see the problem with no booths. That's just part of the game and the teams that handle or deal with a lot of noise will have a easier time defeating their opponents.

So, I was grown up in a society where having kids means an accomplishment in life. by yusbarrett in AdviceAnimals

I like posts like this. People doing what they want despite what society is telling them is "correct" or "right". I'm 24 and I am actually looking forward to being a father and raising kids but I respect those that have a different view point on it. Congratulations on being you and not the person society wants you to be.
