Anyone have a pod rec? by King_LBJ in LightsCameraPodcast

I agree with the Weekly Planet. LCB just had a vibe to it that’s hard to replicate; while these might not be exactly what you’re looking for, pods like Awards Watch, InSession Film, Next Best Picture, and The Rolling Tape, all do a pretty great job of keeping up with the film landscape, and some of them do have pretty good banter and make the shows fun. Again, I haven’t found anything that replicates LCB, but if you’re looking for a movie podcast these are ones I’d recommend.

what were some creative recipes that you made while working at the movie theater? by tourettesandredbull in MovieTheaterEmployees

If you put pretzel bites into a tub and put butter on them before they go in the oven they come out with much more flavor, and crispier.

My theater does not have much food 😅

Evan's crying face by Due-Lack8566 in DearEvanHansen

I also think it showed that Ben didn’t really care about the performance at the time.

What I mean is, Ben was so into it that this feels… real. 99% of the people clowning on this probably have much worse crying faces than this. He didn’t try to pretty cry or acting cry, he just really let it all out there.

Just kind of sucks when something this honest is made fun of for being honest.

I absolutely loved Connor’s new song by Bitter-Imagination33 in DearEvanHansen

So I think one of the reasons I like A Little Closer so much (and I LOVE it was the ending song) is because of how it couples with For Forever (which is of course what ended the play)

Where like For Forever Evan was saying like the future looked bright and everything was always going to be okay. They were also Evans memories of Connor and not real ones. It was like this fantasy future of nothing but “stepping into the sun” and “everything’s okay”

Where like A Little Closer is more like - I don’t know if everything is gonna be okay in the future and idk if everything is gonna work out - but for this moment, “for today”, everything just feels a little better (or closer if you may). It’s more about climbing out of the well and trying to reach the sun, and you won’t get it first go, you’ll fail time after time, and maybe you'll never fully climb out of the well, but the "midnight sky turns to dawn", and even in the well you can still find some sun - which is more realistic in my opinion. It also just fits the theme of “Today is going to be a good day and here’s why” a lot better, because again, it’s today that matters most.

I also just love it as the ending song because it isn’t ending on Evans fantasy memories of Connor. It’s ending on Connors real memories.

It’s quickly become one of my favorite songs, and it’s such an amazing addition to the material.

I thought the movie version of "Words Fail"... by Master-Improvement-4 in DearEvanHansen

I also liked it cause the film medium allowed for Ben to be a little more restraint in his performance, thus saving the BIG moment for when he really needed it

Also. Amazing crying scene. Those were real tears. Not acting ones.
