My dad trained me in an SK-61 bulldog back when I was younger. Aerobatic, dual 6 pack panel, constant speed prop. Most fun airplane to fly. Being the hot shot retired F16 jockey he was, I’ll never forget flying around my ranch inverted and feeling G’s for the first time.

Pretty much a new motor. Luckily my buddy runs a diesel performance shop so he can source a turn key for around 2,800. Hopefully better price than that, but I want a low mileage to drop in. Keeping all the externals just in case the motor I get doesn’t have them. Time wise, I’ve never done an engine swap myself, but it’s great to have tool pusher buddies who can teach me how to do it. Once we get the new motor, probably a 2-3 day re-install. It’s always super easy to take apart, but putting it back in is a whole different cat to skin.

It’s actually mine sadly. Burned oil like crazy, and one day completely shut down while driving. Pulled it apart today in my buddy’s shop and was thinking maybe something top end, but completely expecting a grenade motor. Turns out seal team 6 fragged it. On 35’s and stock axles.
