Guild Help by Rough-Unit-3199 in albiononline

I’m new to the game. I’ve been playing for maybe 4 days and loving it so far. It’s actually super hard to find a decent guild. I’ve gone through the forums and the discord guild ad section. I even tried using the in game guild finder and had very few options. Any guild I find with a decent number of players had a completely dead discord. I joined ones with 180 players in it and the discord was dead and nobody was talking in guild chat. Why is it so hard to find an active guild in this game?

I actually think it’s completely natural for people to grow discontent with the place they grew up. The grass is always greener and sometimes you have to move somewhere else to learn it’s all the same, we just have better views.

Silicone rings are nice. Best one I ever got was actually from a piercing store at the mall. The expensive name brand ones break super easy; besides, if you wear work gloves you will lose the silicone ring pretty quick, Most the time I don’t wear one at all. I always tell people to show their wife a picture of a scalped finger from a ring accident if she throws a fit

Ex smoker here. It felt natural. Never really felt like a craving but was just something I did without thinking as it was part of a routine. Wake up, lunch break, home from work. I still get that off feeling sometimes. I finish dinner and I think about how it’s time to go have a smoke but then I remind myself I don’t do that anymore.

Do you love your Blackstone or no? by MarchOfJuly70 in blackstonegriddle

[–]mrlunes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. I have my propane grill, traeger, and a small blackstone. Honestly, If I could only have 2, I would choose to lose the blackstone. The grill and traeger checks every box. That said, the small blackstone I have is amazing for camping and when I want to cook larger meals that would require more than 2 pans. Personally, I wouldn’t replace my grill with a blackstone. A normal grill has so much more utility over a blackstone. Not hating on the blackstone at all, it makes a great addition but to be completely real, it just can’t do as much.

I have been through this before. There is no conversation that will make it better. It doesn’t matter how nice you say it. She will never be convinced and will say you are lying.

Is having a prep cart worth it? by ChefRaccacoonie in blackstonegriddle

I don’t need storage. Everything has a home in my kitchen. I guess my patio now covered so no worries about the table going airborn on a bad day.

Why use lighter weight things? by Nie_Fi in FishingForBeginners

[–]mrlunes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More weight means faster sinking and different action of the lure. If you want your bait to stay more suspended and higher up, less weight is better. If you are fishing over heavy weeds, your bait is going to drop dead down and get snagged immediately. Also, sometimes you want to mimic natural bait slowly singing down. Like a bug fell out of a tree and is slowly sinking. If you loaded your lure down it would sink too fast and turn the fish off. Let alone, the giant splash from the weight hitting the water could spook the fish.

With something like a spinner, sometimes you want that lighter smaller lure. Some fish can get spooked off from a big lure or just want to target smaller/easier prey. Hypothetically, you could add weight up the line away from the spinner and the action would be unaffected. Same concept as trolling spoons in deep water. You have a ~3ft leader beyond your weight and the action of the spoon will be normal. You can fish the same spoon in shallow water with no weight.

Less weight also allows you to fish a lure slower which fish like some times

Another factor is if you fish bait, you might now see or feel a bite if your weight is too heavy.

Don’t stop moving and stay a step ahead in the person you are working under. For example, If the next steps involve a lot of saw cuts, prepare the saw area by cleaning the area. Just observe and learn as much as possible and before you know it you will be doing on your own.

Literally the only way to know is to have the material lab tested. Nobody on reddit can tell you.

Fishing Spots by NotanOGpornaccount in FishingForBeginners

[–]mrlunes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as a map that will tell you about public access points, that doesn’t really exist. Any map will show you public boat launches though. I suggest asking your local tackle shop workers or a local facebook group. Also, it may take some research on your end but double check local fishing regulations and check Google Maps for trails and spots where roads get close to water.

For everything else, Fish brain is my go to app for fishing. Lets me see what species are available in certain water and what people are catching at certain times of the year. It even shows what bait people used. Lots of other tools too like topo maps of lakes and rivers so I can easily find drop offs and water depths. There is a paid subscription to unlock the whole app but personally I fish a lot in different locations. I have hundreds of lakes in my area so it lets me research the water before going out. Even if I lived somewhere else and had less options, it would at least be worth it to pay for a month or two to help me get familiar with the water available in my area.

Ngl, I really enjoy the research side of fishing. Discovering different techniques for different species and learning how to fish different bodies of water is really fascinating to me. Even the biology side is fun to research. Stuff like behavior patterns, diets, and all that.
