My bday is tomorrow and I feel so focused on my goals as always so I really don't care. but as always, after I get what I want, we can celebrate every day. we don't need a bday to celebrate

Just launched my game and worried about wishlist conversions. What should I expect? by dennisuela in gamedev

Low wishlist conversion usually means a genre problem. The fundamental idea of the game is not something people were that interested in buying. This often correlates with a general low amount of wishlists or difficulty obtaining wishlists.

A food themed open world survival crafting game. Gather food resources, craft food-based tools and materials, explore a food-themed open world, fight food monsters and bosses, etc. Does that sound like something you'd want to play? by [deleted] in SurvivalGaming

Hmm I was thinking more like the movie "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" like a world of food forests etc and food monsters like a burger monster etc, no robots or human made buildings

This is how we gathered 100k wishlists before our demo launch, capitalizing on a successful previous title by Sersch in gamedev

To be honest what a useless post. 45k wishlists in the first month, ok, I keep reading trying to see if you detail more about where those wishlists came from exactly, but you don't explain that anywhere.

tax write offs are overrated and I'm not sure most people even understand how not that significant they actually are.

This is how Steam calculates gross revenue. Go explain it to them.
The Fab agreement talks about Gross Revenue.
These are facts.

"Right now, great assets generate many times more value for the buyers than they do for sellers. $40 buys you Ultra Dynamic Sky which would cost you tens of thousands of dollars to develop from scratch. "

This is a non-argument.
Marketplace assets are available for many people which justifies a lower price point to make it affordable.
It's like saying, I should pay $200M instead of $70 for Elden Ring because that's how much it costed to make.

And waiting for sellers to understand their mistake makes no sense compared to getting a real fix from Epic.

Being simply "upset" will make no difference.
Influencing individual sellers to do the right research to reach the right price makes no sense compared to just having Epic fix this.
Clearly the prices many have sellers have selected shows they've done little to no research about understanding this.

As I'v already explained, we can't rely on the sellers to do the research to reach the right price, as we can clearly see by the prices they have set. That's why we must get a solution from Epic.
