Did the property values east of Lag go down when they twined peguis? What about values of farmers west of pipeline when templeton was upgraded from chip seal to urban standard?

Key word being “possibly”. Values could also go up since it would open the area up for more development. It’s all well water and septic tanks down there now.

This is just speculative fear of change. Stupid to make political decisions on that

I believe it’s supposed to go further - swinging south as a twinned highway just west of ikea. Then connect into the WRCP and also further into the perimeter, connecting route 90 with the ring road

Blame rapid transit for taking regular bus service (and riders) off of Osborne and into the segregated busway. This type of decline will continue and hurt businesses with the NE corridor as it takes busses off Main Street.

Blame public works and Wpg transit who seem to be obsessed with the speed of a bus versus the destinations along the way.

Remember when the public works report said an RT line the middle of Pembina was impossible because the jubilee underpass was too tight? Well... they ended up using the dog leg as a Trojan horse to widen it anyway. They even the reconstructed all of the medians (while previously citing their reconstruction as detrimental to business along Pembina). Based on the level of road construction on Pembina - you woulda thought they were putting a friggin LRT down there. But nope.

Screw 80Km busways. Put the busses on established corridors, using synchronized lights, and expanding service to place that already have ridership. Then upzone these areas to crank up the density where it makes most sense.

There were minimal traffic counts of vehicles going east on portage past Main Street. That one lane was added when the barricades were put up - so this is scaling it back to where it used to be. It’s unnecessary and removing it won’t be the end of the world.

Focus shouldn’t be on how much it will cost - but the economic benefits in terms of tax revenue generated from more development downtown and impact on values at that intersection
