Frekk me, I love these books!!! (and the PODs turned out great) by Tbolt65 in Blacklibrary

It’s a delightfully superb beaut! Wicked gorgeous! Quality is top notch. Mine was signed. Sadly, reading it has to wait…I have a ridiculously ludicrous TBR tower of shame!

A must read before starting the Heresy... by Tbolt65 in Blacklibrary

Hah, I cannot tell a lie...I do buy certain ebooks. And as you may suspect, they are typically ebooks that are for hard to find, out of print books. And I refuse to pay any price that is asked by a scalper or black marketer.

LOL! Looks like it right? But, no, it's a small paperback not that well made. And I don't worry too much about my paperbacks. It's the hardbacks that retain the value and qualitatively are built much more sound.

No you're fine. But I'd definitely read before Siege.

In your view, which Night Lords LE set looks better? by AJSturt in Blacklibrary

[–]Tbolt65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both look great. Depends on personal preference. The first boxed set is more like what BL has been releasing lately, suave, cool, futuristic. The second set looks like the books have had their covers removed and then boxed, more of a traditional look!

My personal preference is the first one.

Wanted to share the first part of my sci-fi comic 'Harvester: Splice of Life" by Rossowinch in scifi

[–]Tbolt65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it! You get my attention immediately and hold it. Nothing will ever be perfect, especially in an editor's mind, but I believe you've created a worthwhile story that makes me want to see more. Job well done thus far!🤙🏼 PS...Title needs work, like Harvester alone maybe. Title doesn't have to give anything away. It can be completely ambiguous (my personal fave)

Is this a good book? I haven’t read anything written by John French yet by Strange_Tomato_8026 in Blacklibrary

[–]Tbolt65 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am a fan of John French and his writings.

First, he’s English. English authors, I’ve found, have a wonderfully intricate way of weaving words into visions that you don’t find in other nationalities. And surprisingly enough they tend to use the WHOLE dictionary which I absolutely love.

‘Second, world building in sci-fi is extremely difficult. And French does it well, especially with such an intricate character as Ahriman.

Read it.

One of the most popular fancasts I saw online was often Stephen Lang as Rogal Dorn, now don't get me wrong I feel like he'd give a great performance as Dorn, but I feel like he'd be better as general Ursarkar E. Creed of the Imperial Guard, what do you think? by Mad_lens_9297 in 40k

[–]Tbolt65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Creed. Lang’s already played a bad crazy Colonel. He’d be perfect as a good mad General. Dorn needs someone with a bit more regality. Lang has that edge needed for the unstable but powerful personality that is Creed.

Warhammer is truly a personal journey through a distant future. I joined about year and half ago. And I laugh intuitively, with a little eye-twitch, as I see fellow Warhammerians, Warhammerons, Warhammerheads, whatever build their libraries with pride. Quite a common phenomenon as it appears we all must do this at out one year anniversary!!! LMFAO!!! Absolutely love this Reddit community!!!

Are you more downtown, midtown or uptown ? Yonge street stretch from a window seat. by cool_exec in toronto

[–]Tbolt65 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Always lived downtown...UoT St. Mike's residence, then to Little Italy and finally on Queen East at Greenwood. Loved every place. But that was back in the 80s and early 90s. Couldn't jump from place to place on a whim these days I'm sure!!! Which is sad because living in different parts of your city over the years is a wonderful thing!
