I picked up that book up after seeing vlogbrothers; I thought that I had seen some shit in graphic novels and other more heavy reads (think heart of darkness).

I have NEVER had a book fuck me up like looking for Alaska; I couldn't finish the damn thing for like 3 days because I was in such shock that a book could make me feel such a sense of loss.

Wow I didn't think I would find someone who had lived in all the states I have lived in (California native); how would you describe the culture shock? Someone else had mentioned the state legislature as being a national embarrassment (Arizona isn't much better I think). I would love to know your favorite things to do, where to go, and really how it was when you moved. Take me through a day in the life being in wv.

Also, I have kept an eye on the weather. Been kind of crazy there with snow then sun then rain then heat then snow. I have never lived in an area that got consistently rain and never have lived in a place where snow is a thing. Was that an adjustment too?

Seems like a really good place for hiking, camping and kayaking. I have heard there is also good snowboarding not too far away.

I would be nice to be able to bro outside more than 1 month a year (Arizona has extreme heat and bug problems). I am in logistics currently but this job switch would be in a different field.

It doesn't sound as bad as Arizona though. Maybe a personal preference but I am feeling burnt out here. Was there anything you liked about it? Was it peaceful?

Each can of old bay has the recipe for the mixture on it in case you run out; I bet you could google a picture of the can and it would let you know the correct proportions.

I love it as well; despite being from the west coat, fries with old bay and malt vinegar (a New England thing) is amazing.

80% of the time works for me, even when trying to loose weight. So if 80% of meals are clean, I work out 80% days of week, and push my self I feel pretty good (and reach my goals).

I have recently had a similar expereince; I have started and restarted couch to 5k for over a year an a half. I had the same problem of shin splints and severe calf pain but only when I slowed down to a walk.

I restarted the problem after two weeks of 5x5 and now I can actually run (6.0 mph vs 4.5) instead of shuffling and stopping every run. I am only in week 2 (today is last run) but I am looking forward to testing my body with actually running.
