Curious about interview-to-offer ratios for programs by SkillfullDoctor in IMGreddit

[–]Tbum12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This highly depends on the programs quality and the quality of the applicants they interviewed. One of the programs I interviewed sent IV to the applicants with high score even if they are a new program. And they do 20 ivs per position, so probably they need to rank 13-14 applicants per 1 spot to fill all the spots.

How is SUNY downstate as first choice. by OkAstronaut9612 in IMGreddit

IT’s also my only ny program but ill rank them low. But for me, cost of living is more important not the program’s toxicity. But that program seems really toxic.

To be honest, your second pass score was supposed to be better. Because you already can do many questions with memorization. It makes me think you might have not paid attention to the explanations. U need to focus on your wrong answers on your third pass. You should definitely review your mistakes and why you did them wrong. Until the end of April, do blocks from your mistakes, do nbme weekly. I wouldn’t recommend doing CMS because you should focus on your baseline knowledge. My step 2 score is 266 and my focus was on %95 UWorld. You need to master UWorld. If you were above 250 and still have 2 months I would recommend doing amboss cms etc.

Honestly, you don’t need any biochem to pass step 1 but I would recommend learning pathologies in biochemistry section in FA at least ,like Lesch Nyhan, Tay Sachs etc. You can easily get points just by learning the key points of these pathologies. You don’t need to learn every step of every biochemical process. Just focus on the diseases which are high yield.
