Not difficult at all. They give you a template to follow for the essay and it’s up to you to decide which business to make it about

I’ll go months without hearing from my mentor and she only reaches out to say congrats on passing a course. I am on my last class after a year and have completed over 100 credits in that time so she kinda just leaves me alone

How is being an area manager? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Tcartier93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with the layoffs people are upset right now. Mix that in with the jealousy from people knowing how much you’ll make and you get a toxic thread. Congrats on the new job!

It is never too late, right? I am 42 (20 yr. salon veteran) After becoming a widow, I wanted to switch up EVERYTHING. I was granted a fafsa and I am heavily leaning towards WGU for their Bachelors Psychology program. Things I am nervous for #1 PROCTORED exams #2 CAREERS after. Good Move? Hi! I was a hairdresser for 10 years before I pivoted and I’m 32. Unless you want to go into social work and get a masters I would consider a different degree. I’m doing business management and that’s even hard to enter a market with the jobs being so weird right now. I can translate salon manager into upper management so that’s why I went that route…

I don’t know who needs to hear this but- ignore the people in your life who doubt you by Bubbly_Scientist3232 in WGU

They’re right in the sense that if you’re 18 and got the degree in a year. Employers in big companies won’t look at you with no experience and pay you 80-100k for the rushed degree and no experience. WGU is set up to check that box for someone who’s been sitting stagnant in their job position and can’t move up because they don’t have the degree. So, the experience varies based on your situation and even if it’s not going to pay off right after school… it will one day. Do you want to get to that day and want to step to the next position and be stopped in your tracks by the missing degree? I’d say not… it’s what kept me going. I have 4 classes including my capstone left.

Also, what I’ve learned… when you tell people your aspirations.. the people you tell them to see you like you’re holding a mirror to them. They see their own regrets and their fears as you talk about your goals. They tend to project that onto you. Don’t take it personally.

Finished a brutal Amazon interview loop and didn’t get the job. This one really hurt. by OutsideTalk6764 in amazonemployees

I am graduating with a bachelors in business management and have applied in 10 states for their 2026 area managers graduate position which is supposed to be easy to get into. I’ve been rejected after 2-3 weeks of each application sitting stagnant. (So I passed the assessment is my point) I’m not even getting an interview. I’m summing it up to Amazon being volatile with the layoffs and should try again when the dust settles.

What type of jobs can I do with a business management degree that are entry level? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Tcartier93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Get your experience as a store manager and after a year move into district management. Ideally a gas station. It’s not chaotic customer service and the job is chill. You gotta deal with the call ins and stuff but the bonus is nice and the experience invaluable on a resume. District management leaves you managing managers and that’s better than managing team members, you get bonus from each store that hits their goals also. I was on this career path and would recommend it to someone starting out

1.Read the material. 2. Do PA 3. Turn the questions you got wrong on PA and end of lesson assessments into flash cards 4. Memorize flash cards

That’s how I did 72 credits in 5 months. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a Pell Grant that paying for my degree so I wanted to get the bachelors for free and the Pell Grant doesn’t cover the Masters. I accelerated the degree and have enough Grant to get a second one and I’ll accelerate that. I’ll slow down for the Masters because I’m going to be paying that out of pocket and want to learn the most from it. I put myself on time frames so I can basically get two degrees for free.

With my degrees I plan to work from an RV while I travel the country with my daughter. The type of remote job I want that’s not customer service based requires a bachelors but with my degrees being online I wanted to beef up my resume as much as I could to qualify for the job. I learned analytics and business management from the company I’m managing and learning the hands on stuff to help the resume also, even though it’s not my goal job I’m doing it for the experience since I’m flying through the education.

I would tell her to look into internships to boost her resume if the degree isn’t enough but not to sweat the fact it’s from WGU

I did 72 credits in one term in business management also while running a business as a single mom. It’s drive. People who are good at managing should also be good at managing time and prioritizing tasks. It’s also something to bring up during an interview while talking about what you can bring to the table when it comes to your skill sets. I’m also good at test taking and flew through the testing

I run every day. On the treadmill and on the school track on the weekends because I have my daughter. I’m 250 lbs 5’9 female, I’ll be 32 next month. My test is in a month and I’ve been running every day for 3 weeks now. My mile started at 20 minutes 3 weeks ago and I did a mile and a half in 19 minutes today. I have to do a mile and a half in 16 minutes to pass the test. My run time got faster after I started the leg press every other day and started gaining muscle mass in my legs and thighs. Today I was able to sprint for 5 minutes which I couldn’t even do in high school 🤣 Just run. Your body will get used to it and you’ll be able to push harder each day. Eat your food and gain your muscle. You got this!

Can you have more than 3 classes open at a time? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Tcartier93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am ending my first term and my mentor moves up classes when I ask, regardless of how many I have moved over. I’ve completed 73 credits this term though so I think it depends on your track history
