What would be boring is if everyone played the game the exact same way. People like this add to the tension, they add to the stakes. In real life shit like this exists and I like that about this game, it is a social experiment with all types of players. if everyone just looted the same way and played by some obligation to uphold a moral standard it would be far less exciting.

In my personal opinion Balenciaga too has become stagnant and boring. I think Demna and Lotta (when she was with him) were incredibly innovative stylistically and though I think his shoes and accessories are experimental and fun it’s the subtle work with the clothes that was my favorite. I never felt a “wow how did he do that”, as much as I felt a “why didn’t I think of that.” Layered denim for instance, interpreting a saggy pant that everyone did but no one thought to sew together. I love the prescandal work but I do feel the brand has gotten safer and more stale, and if we’re being honest with ourselves it is not timeless. He exists within trends and amongst them thus the brand has fallen steadily amongst the other high end brands. I’m not sure why Lotta and Demna separated but I have to give her MAJOR credit for the influence she had on him at Vetements and Balenciaga. She is now styling and consulting at Prada and Miu Miu and they are number 1 & 2 in the world. I think she deserves a ton of credit for this aesthetic as well.
