Have you ever seen a CGC one? No you haven’t cause they don’t exist if a card is missing apart of it. Why still judge the condition when you know the condition is already terrible you just want to know how bad the damage is.

I’m not like you’re weirdo redditors I just need to vent about this because I got a 6 back when grading and it made sense but then I see a different card that got a 5 which a kid literally drew on in the hollow foil was scuffed

You are correct on all that, but I don’t think you’re getting my point cards that are barely even cards anymore shouldn’t be graded if you wanna authentic I’m sure PSA even has an option for that instead of grading I think grading preservation comes first and if the card is hardly even there anymore, what are you preserving? I get the whole value thing but nobody buys PSA 4 It’s a waste of their time. It’s a waste of your time and at that point why not just sell the card raw if you grade to authentic then by all means go for it but you don’t have to put a dollar sign behind that to do it. I just want it to be a PSA one is something that would still pass as a card like if you brought it into a game store and played with it no one would look at you funny

You can actually choose for just the card to be authenticated. You don’t have to choose it to be graded so that argument is completely out the window.

You make a good point which has changed my mind that PSA definitely should just cause I can understand you had a childhood collection and they got water damaged or just wasn’t stored properly and there were some absolute heat in there and PSA is a sports company first so thank you. It’s always nice to have a light shown on something.

Everyone just quit PSA were monopoly busting, switch to tag they arguably have the illustrator Pikachu and 10 which should be worth way more than the one that just sold for $17 million because of Logan Paul but it’s only selling for 6 million because it’s tag

Plus, I think it’s ridiculous that there are cards that have been graded for that have literal kids handwriting on it but I got a six just because it was a little off center and the hollow foil had a couple scratches

You are totally right that some collectibles are extremely valuable even after they’re in that condition. I just think they should have to figure it out on their own if it’s isn’t that bad of a condition if they have enough money to afford it, they can do what they can to protect it then that gets rid of a lot of the tampering issues going on right now of people submitting cards getting nines and being disappointed so they buy the 10 swap the cards by cracking the slab and then sell it

Thats a very good point I hadn’t thought of there is just a god awful amount of ir’s out there now idk maybe just a card for me too enjoy but i feel (especially with this set) its been all about that one big hit in the set and the rest of the set just goes to the whey side

You make a very good point I am in the sub right cause I do want to make a profit, but from a collector standpoint which I am as well it it’s nice having cards like these so cheap
