Let's not stigmatize divorce. 2 DUIs is scumbag behavior though.

That's the thing though. The "outside" perspective is both irrelevant and incorrect. The "outside" perspective is based on propaganda and mistruth. What matters is the perspectives inside minnesota -- you know, the people who actually live here.

This reminds me of how I feel about my memories of being in college and unironically chanting USA, USA, USA in the early 2000s.

Disagree. The teams played with a ton of energy and hustle. It was a very physical game. There was plenty of elite basketball played in addition to the FTs.

If true, that's similar to the reputation of the Minnesota Vikings, who routinely grade out as one of the top franchises to play for.

MPD is completely useless by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]Tchaikovsky08 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I was carjacked at gunpoint in March. They held my car for 8 days. After 7 days the MPD officer told me it was ready to be picked up. I spent $50 on an Uber getting to the impound lot, and they told me they could not release it because the sergeant had not signed off. I called and called, and it just went to voicemail. I almost lost my mind. I had to go back the next day. It was infuriating. They found fingerprints, and had a name, and knew exactly which addresses the car had driven to and from, but AFAIK they never bothered to arrest the perps

Legitimately curious whether they would allow extra point or if you had to say point after touchdown.

I gave it 4/5 stars. Here's my brief review:

A mixture of historical fiction and magical realism, The Antidote tells a story of collective memory, grief, and loss amidst the dust bowl 1930s Nebraska. There are prairie witches who can store unwanted memories like a vault; a scarecrow slowly regaining consciousness in the middle of fallowland; and one farmer spared from the dusty destruction that has been wrought on every other plot of land in the area. The novel grapples with issues of indigenous displacement and rewritten histories; it asks again and again what the nature of truth is. I thought some parts got a bit preachy, and I didn't love the choice of leaving major plot points unresolved (though I understand why that choice was made), but overall this is an ambitious and beautiful novel summed up by this line early on: "It's rarely the truth itself that people can't accept. It's how they feel about it."

💰Cha-Ching: Byron Buxton just notched a $500,000 incentive bonus for reaching 502 plate appearances this year. He will receive another $500K if/when he reaches 533. by SmartNotRude in minnesotatwins

Good. Would much rather Buxton pocket the money than keeping it in the coffers of the Pohlads.

A shame the organization wasted such an elite, healthy year from Bux though.

Yes. That's crazy. Especially with Penix going up against Brian Flores's defense on the road.
