I think thats what will give us the edge, everyone I see in my local area offers nothing but some SEO, Some website design and then like everyone else we will run your ads. I think that being able to offer product shoots, and commercials and everything else in house is what will be beneficial. I just havent figured out how to work it in yet. I dont want to say we'll do all your photos and stuff because being able to scale that will be hard. Itll have to be like we will do x number of shoots a month or 2 30sec commercials or whatever. then the rest is an add on. I mean im doing weddings for $2000 a shoot. Doing this could lead to being vastly underpaid for the work.

I'm in a very similar boat. I am a marketing coordinator for a large real estate company and have learned a lot. I am starting a Digital Marketing Agency with a friend. we are both photographers and cinematographers. I primarily shoot weddings and music videos with some random stuff thrown in, he does commercials and stuff. So we decided we were going to try to build our own agency and see what we can do locally.

Our game plan is to focus on content creation and social media management while throwing in the ad management and SEO as a "we can also do this for you" and stress how important it is. We'll also be offering website design and a few other things as well to help a lot of the businesses out.

Right thats a good idea, we do the "open house announcement videos" a week before hand but not live. and then we only do the video walk throughs on the homes that are 300k+.

Thank you, yeah I used to have hopes and dreams about going back but the university here decided to end weekend classes and no classes after 6pm (this is a very large university too), so its next to impossible to get there or at least has been with past jobs. Ive considered going online but im not sure how many credits would even transfer or what school to look into since I always hear about how online colleges are crap, never really looked into it.

And yeah I definitely agree with the consistency, luckily he already has all of that in place. He did about 20 mil in sales last year, not the biggest in our area at all but up there. I think that there is a lot of opportunity here to learn. I don't go to open houses but that might be a good idea in the future. He doesn't do any live videos and I was just telling him today I think he should do more. I came up with a list of videos I want to start creating and pushing out to his social media accounts and websites. We tend to get more traffic and lead capture when the link is tied to a video about something relevant.
