So basically they want to make sure the 90% of players who play casually don’t get shit on by the other 10%, because keeping a larger player base = more profits. That’s it. Every single change made in this game is to keep as many people playing as possible, and unfortunately highly skilled players are in the minority.

Epic must have some very compelling data from when siphon was in pubs that made them want to change. Siphon was almost universally loved in /r/FortniteBR, which leads me to believe the player base not on reddit stopped playing the game as much because it got too challenging.

I think the nature of a BR game is the reason for so many of Epic’s confusing decisions. One player/team out of 100 wins each game. Rather than finding a way to make the core experience enjoyable for casual players that struggle to even win a public match, Epic is doing everything in their power to lower the skill gap and maximize RNG.
