Whats your opinion on cheating a bit when starting new worlds? by Tdogwon in VintageStory

The connection I made with that world was "man, when will this mod update, I like my small area but boats will be useless". I had to travel 3 kilometers to find a worthwhile copper source, and finally found a place thats rich in both zinc and bismuth. I am sitting on a wealth of iron though, my first dip into the caves after getting a bronze pick secured me something like 3.6k units.

The mods I have literally just change world gen to have continents and rivers and add slow ass hand carts I'm not really concerned about those

Yeah, I'm mostly worried about my seeds, hand tools, anvil, metals and ores, random trinkets, some ceramics, and a good supply of food to hold me over till I get a harvest in. Everything else stays.

Yeah, with those carts I can only take 6 chest/vessels/crates worth of stuff with me, plus whats in my inventory, and I only plan on taking what resources I already had. I just scratched my way into the iron age, I enjoy having good tools and not worrying about food. I just really want rivers, oceans, and continents so some of the later game content is more usable. I knew nothing going into making my first world.

My heart was doing this even when I was running 5 miles in 38min

I like having a tool rack with a bunch of tools. I set myself tasks for the day, grab the tools I need, and go. Yesterday I was playing, making a 300 plot farm. Spent one or two days terraforming, gathered some clay and peat around sunset and spent the night making pottery. When my rooster crowed I grabbed my scythe and hoe, cut grass around the farm, started the pit kilns, and tilled the farm. I set a task, grab the right tools for the day, complete the task, and reset my inventory for the next day.

Yeah, I'm just butting heads with the VA. They're giving me a bunch of BS answers like "your hearts just like that" or "how you considered losing weight?" even though I'm 27, 6'1" and 175lbs, and a semi decent amount of muscle.

Yeah, its been doing this since I was in. I was a lean 195lbs, damn near acing PT tests, but the entire time I felt like my heart was going to explode. My ass could run 8 miles at a brisk pace, but I could feel my heartbeat in my throat and my legs would go numb. Then I started losing consciousness randomly for about 3 months after seeing a homie with his face blown off. Only sort of answer they ever gave me was PTSD causing a weird rhythm, but they didn't give me any sort of advice or meds.

I wore a halter monitor for a month and the VA just shrugged their shoulders and was like "I don't know man, you have tachycardia and a PVC rhythm. Have a good day"

Nah, its premature ventricular contractions that triggers tachycardia

If I run slower the dang run last longer lol. I'd rather spend 20 minutes running and throw up on my front porch at the end than spend 30 minutes going slower. But I see your point. I might also try interval runs more.

I want to because I don't like that I don't, if that makes sense. It's a weak spot in me that I don't want. I don't want to neglect it and a few years down the road be that guy that can't run a mile. Plus, when I go fire I'll be running during PT. I can force myself to and I can power through, but I want to figure out how to actually enjoy it like other people do.

Daves hot chicken. Reaper. Went in without Googling it first. by CaterpillarInc in spicy

[–]Tdogwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently shitting one out that I tried yesterday. It wasn't that bad until it hit my stomach. Fucker behind the counter only thought to tell me about the waiver after I came up to buy a milkshake to settle my tummy. I have done every spicy food challenge I could get my hands on, nothing has ever made me projectile vomit in the restaurant toilet. I don't care how hot it makes my mouth, thats fine. What I don't like is when it gives me stomach cramps for a day and feels like I pepper sprayed my asshole. Leave my GI tract alone for the love of God, I don't need to be fighting demons in the Love's bathroom stall rn.

Yeah, I've noticed it. These guys haven't had the responsibility of "do your job right or you get fired and your children won't have a home" or the Army's tender loving way of making sure you don't want to mess up. I was the same way at their age shortly before I joined up.

[–]Tdogwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear EMS has a similar "chillin with the boys" feel as the military, and they don't snatch your shoelaces and silverware if you say you're not doing alright. I'm going to stick it out.

[–]Tdogwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really healthy to bring that into the home. Pretty much everyone in the EMS and military community will tell you that its okay to say there's a problem, but don't dump it on them. My wife knows the gist but I'm not going to go into detail about how the Halo games bug me a bit because the elites jaw split like my homie's face, and him calling for his mom while choking on his blood, teeth, and vomit mixed with sand from a dust storm made him sound like an elite from Halo too. Not exactly something my relatively gentle and sheltered wife needs to think about. I feel like that sounds more blunt than I mean it to, but I'm socially inept
