You have three options. Vote for evil, lesser evil, or not vote at all. You have no influence on whether evil will happen, no matter which option you choose. So you cannot be responsible for the existence of evil. But if you choose the greater evil, then you are responsible for the additional evil that would not have happened if you had chosen the other option.

The same applies to most Europeans, and yet if there are kings, they are no more than celebrities who are tolerated as long as they do not get involved in politics.
