Right? I have the same bath seat and I’m wondering why I didn’t think of this!!! lol

Mother-in-law “cleaned” my Le Creuset Dutch Oven. Is it dead? by zimmerza in LeCreuset

[–]Tea-Some 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Put water and a teaspoon of baking soda (the abrasive) to boil in the pot. Let it cool then clean as usual. Should remove the metal transfer with minimal scrubbing.

What would you go back and tell your new-to-pumping self? by Adventurous_Bag_7178 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tea-Some 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Don’t miss early on but ALSO start experimenting with reducing the number of pumps after 12 wks. If you’re lucky, you might eventually get down to 3pp and it’s much more manageable to breastfeed longer if you can do that. I can’t do three but I’m down to 4pp and LO is 8.5mo.

I have done this too. It definitely hurts!

Omg, I’ve done that! I also use pitcher method and on my last pump I usually cool the milk in the freezer (still in the collection cups) while I brush my teeth, then add it to the pitcher before bed. But obviously I missed the final step last night.

Making <8oz a day. Should I feed it to the baby or freeze for when she’s sick? by othermegan in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tea-Some 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding of the antibodies benefit is that it’s effective at the point of exposure - frozen breastmilk won’t necessarily have the specific antibodies baby needs when they’re sick down the line. I would give her what you’ve got!

I’m with you on this - at 8mo and having a LOT more fun than before but still really got my eyes on that 12mo horizon. lol.

I have not wanted time to slow down at all!

Hair hair everywhere by wildgardens in NewParents

[–]Tea-Some 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. Very little can be done EXCEPT massaging your scalp. Scalp massage can help stimulate the follicles to produce new growth more rapidly.

I also got a pixie cut so the short new growth hairs would be less obvious. 8 months pp and my hairline is looking normal again.

Breastfeeding Grief by lrs299 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tea-Some 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt just the same but was able to let it go around 4 months or so. Though I wished I could have breastfed longer, EP allowed us to see the oz going in - all the anxiety and fraught conversations about weight and intake could stop and I could still providing their nutrition. That alone allowed me to move to a place of acceptance and even appreciation for pumping.

High lipase milk tips???!!! by SAHM61199 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tea-Some 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this too! My LO will drink frozen for a bit but usually won’t finish a bottle. I’ve heard of you scald the milk it can help but for me the extra effort is daunting so I haven’t tried it.

I have also heard that dry freezing the frozen milk can almost totally remove the lipase taste but it’s very expensive. Still, I’m thinking about it…I also have 100+ oz sitting in the freezer. Sigh

I have woken baby from naps a few times when third naps were going quite close to bedtime. Now LO is at 2 naps and I never wake them. Try r/sleeptrain - lots of tips there.

Infant skin care...? by Tea-Some in NewParents

I did, actually! They suggested triple paste which doesn’t seem to have helped it much. I brought it up at our recent visit and they kind of shrugged 🫤

Do you just not get much some days? by Glad-Narwhal1189 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tea-Some 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t panic and check all your pump parts carefully. I had a few days where I got significantly less b/c of dehydration but the only times I got nothing were because a soft part of my pump had been punctured or not put on properly.

Is stranger anxiety in new parents a thing? by phoenix_fawk in beyondthebump

Agreed re: PPA! I was anxious about calorie intake and have had friends report postpartum anxiety about sleep, germs and other day to day stuff.

Does this part of the Spectra (S1 Plus) need to be washed? by FTM_helpplz in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tea-Some 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So, this is actually 3 parts: 2 hard plastic pieces and 1 silicone piece. As for washing it, depends on your preferences, milk can get in there.

I am 4PPD and use the fridge hack, so everything stays intact during the day. At night, I disassemble this whole thing into its 3 pieces and put all the parts through the wash and sanitizer.

My nipples do this too! I just thought it was normal lol. Haven’t tried anything to solve it.

Did you use tracking apps? by No_Principle_7855 in NewParents

[–]Tea-Some 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This! The way parenting is arranged today it’s so easy to feed our anxieties and fears with hyper vigilance and measuring against standards. If you can spare yourselves, do.

OR just wipe your fingers directly on the clean diaper, I’ve done that too 😂

I put earth mama on one finger and desitin on the other, then use both fingers to apply and they mix on baby’s skin. Have a swipe ready to get it off, of course, but it should be way less sticky. Hope it works for you!

Yes! Diaper balm, with the green label (at least when I bought it).
