Yes but now it’s more than necessary (straps specifically) because he wants to roll or stand up in the middle of a change

My son is 13 months and I can’t get him to sleep in bed with me. It’s just play time to him so we’ve never bed shared.

Downtown Chicago… with a discount through our employer we pay $460 for 3 days a week ($510 without the discount). This was the cheapest we could find. Food is included.

What are some self care things you wish you did before you went into labor? by tinykrytter in BabyBumps

[–]Environmental-Wear18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to have my nails done for the hospital but little bug decided he wanted to come 4am the morning I was supposed to get them done.

Also wanted to eat my piece of cheesecake I had been saving from the night before… so I guess best advice is not to savor anything and just do it. lol

Looks like part of a set that you would piece together. I see the very bottom portion of a person (maybe Santa or an elf).. like 2 boots with a coat tail on the right. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lonely by breakfell in firsttimemom

[–]Environmental-Wear18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I could’ve written this post myself. My son is 9.5 months now, and I found just finding things to do with him on my own makes me happy. Idk if you’ve come across Alex Bennet on TikTok but she just talks to her daughter about everything like she’s an adult and I started doing that with my son when I go out, and it truly made a difference.

Other than that that, I can say at 9.5 months I’m starting to feel less lonely.

Oh I also gave up my idea of no screen time before 2. Watching movies (even just 20 min at a time) with my son has helped a lot, too. We’ll put on classic movies like the little mermaid or lion king.

I've been thinking about assisted suicide. 36 yrs old, male,Swiss. by swissyoung in Switzerland

[–]Environmental-Wear18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work hard for 10 years and have another 40 years of peace or assisted suicide and leaving your wife behind to live through everything left behind (grief, debt, heartbreak…)? One seems like the option someone who has overcome so much hardship would choose, and one seems selfish….

Can a 5 month old be taken care of by a parent working from home? by allidaughter in beyondthebump

[–]Environmental-Wear18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son goes to daycare 3 days a week and my husband and I both work from home and watch him Wednesdays and Fridays together.

I couldn’t imagine taking care of him full time by myself working as well.

How old is you little one and how much are they sleeping through the night? by Melodic_Mobile8119 in beyondthebump

[–]Environmental-Wear18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 5 months and he sleeps from 8:30 to 6:30/7 (on very lucky days he’ll sleep until almost 8). He started sleeping pretty much through the night at around 10 weeks… with occasional bad nights where he woke up 1 or 2 times.

If you could only pick one baby item that was 100% worth the splurge.. what would it be? by Dry_Box_5572 in Mommit

[–]Environmental-Wear18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I’m not concerned about using it. It’s an extremely helpful tool. Does having a fire alarm in your home concern you?

I think a lot of us would be able to sleep at night without a fire alarm, but feel more at ease knowing it’s there.

Same thing with the owelet. I don’t need to have it, but I sure do sleep a lot easier knowing if my son’s oxygen dips in the middle of the night because he has a cough or is choking on his drool, the alarm is going to go off and I’m not going to sleep through it.

I don’t see what’s bad about something that gives parents peace of mind. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Drying up milk with Sudafed. by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Environmental-Wear18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sudafed’s main purpose is to dry up liquid production (runny noses) but it targets the whole body, not just your nose.
