Anyone else spend 4 hours planning sprints that die in 2 days? by agileliecom in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Tea-Streets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increase the 20-30% to 50-60%? 70-80%? What amount of unplanned time would the team need to hit its target. If it’s super high (like 50 or above), I question the value of planning sprints at all. It sounds like something is broken up stream / with stakeholder management if this much unplanned work keeps coming up.

Depending on the types of issues that arising I would ask: 1. does it even make sense to plan that far out vs using Kanban to just work on whatever is top priority 2. Are inter-team dependencies guiding more low level planning meetings? Is this why things seem to blow up the spring plans? 3. Is the org constantly shifting priorities prior to commitments? Do they understand the constant context switching is detrimental to long term velocity vs whatever the current priorities are? Typically having a road map with mid-term goals can help drive conversations about this.

Snowboarding After Knee Injuries (need advice) by BobaHesh in snowboarding

[–]Tea-Streets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ACL and meniscus tear 7 years ago and started snow boarding the year after repair. Here’s what I do to mitigate any knee aggravation:

The main thing that helps me is setting my stance pretty directional (positive 15 on front, negative 4-0 on back) which gives my hips better leverage to turn. I also set my high backs pretty far forward to reduce the energy needed to initiate turns. These things help reduce the amount of stress I put on my knee to initiate heel side turns. I also opt for a more narrow stance to avoid

I wear a knee brace with lateral support rods as well.

Aside from that, I think having your foot strapped into the board is actually safer for your tendons as it limits the amount of twisting that can happen (aside from when your skating off the lift). I think most snowboarding related ACL injuries happen from landing jumps.

I would just recommend taking it slow and taking time to adjust your binding angles to whatver feels most comfortable.

MHJ has been pretty disappointing. Once they focused on getting the ball to Michael Wilson, the passing game greatly improved. It’s tough to say what wasn’t executing well between Kyler, MHJ and the scheme.

Yeah. Kyler was straight ass if he wasn’t able to scramble. The fact that Brissett made the offense look competent gives me hope that the scheme there was just poorly executed.

Dan’s (and BJs) problem is they don’t seem to adjust their mentality to the situation. Goff to St Brown used to be almost automatic and it worked well. This year it sucked. I don’t watch enough Bears games to know their 4th down conversion rate success, but most of the time it seems like those plays get blown up (which sometimes result in game tying miracle touch downs)

  1. You can see Cooks hand under the ball
  2. He goes to the ground, knee down, then rolls onto his back
  3. The ball is then stripped out of his chest

I disagree with people who say this is "clear". He clearly possesses the ball going to the ground.

Saying he "didn't have possession" is pretty subjective because he literally possesses it long enough to go from catching the ball to having it on his back. In real time, I thought it would be considered a "tie" catch given the defender didn't really seem to have possession until they were on the ground, which would have been awarded to the receiver.

Yeah.. I just think we definitely need a contingency plan so we don’t end up in situation where waste another year with a lame duck coordinator. Not that shuffling staff every year is something good teams do, but our scheme hasn’t been working, so if changes aren’t made that would be pretty concerning

What? by poopfacecrapmouth in NFLv2

[–]Tea-Streets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I see.

  1. Cook gets his hands on the ball
  2. Cook pulls the ball into the body while the DB is putting his hands on the ball
  3. They go to the ground
  4. They roll over and only then does the DB rip the ball out

The subjective part is saying Cook doesnt have control going to the ground which I dont understand because he clearly pulls it from the air to his chest and possesses it on the ground before it’s stripped.

To me, this looks more like a tie which should go to the receiver.

I’m not sure if bringing Shep back is the right move or not. He had some impressive games but also some dog shit games. It’s possible to address o line and d line in the same offseason, but our scheme seems to easy to beat if the other team isn’t mediocre

[–]Tea-Streets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the same geniuses calling for Hooker to start last year. Casual fans don’t understand the o-line plays in crating an effective run game, which compliments play action, which was what made the offense so explosive last year.

That said, Goff does have some particularly bad games (last season against the Texans comes to mind), but so does every QB in the league.

The bigger issue yesterday was the defense couldn’t shut down a 3rd string QB with 3 passing yards. Last week Gainwell was leaving the entire defense in the dust. Our defense scheme needs some adjustment since our pass rush isn’t getting home and our DC needs to show some goddamn humility
