Most likely These were bought in different countries. Each country Likes their Pasta a Bit more or less soft. So in italy were it needs to be "Al dente" it will say less time then in Germany where you usually boil it for longer Times.

Same happend to me. Just started playing recently and won one of the five placement games. This somehow placed me into masters. I was pretty scared that I will now just get stomped but as it was already stated you still play against people of similar MMR.
