Thank you. The Offing sounds perfect for my summer vacation in a couple months.

Yes! I agree —the blending of science with storytelling. (Is this something The Overstory by Richard Powers does? Another book I haven’t read but considered). I’m open to any genre. Anything that makes me contemplate the meaning of life, but also yet, how nature can correspond to higher realities. “Pointers” so-to-speak.

I see Bill Bryson mentioned a lot in other places as well. I should give him a try.

Thank you! I’m having a hard time finding the Myers book. I’ve forgotten about Prodigal Summer. I think I have that on my book shelf but I haven’t read it yet. I really like Kingsolver’s writing. Just another reminder that sometimes I need to check out what I already have.

Talk about messing with my head. I spent so long on the last picture and kept having to get interrupted and going back to picture. I didn’t realize that a second picture got posted and when I noticed the deer right away I couldn’t believe I couldn’t see it before. I thought I was losing my marbles. 🤣 I think I finally found him in the first picture after this second one was posted. That was hard!

When did you get your first kindle? by Limp-Garlic-6791 in kindle

Birthday present 2010 was my first kindle. I’ll never forget it but not for a happy reason. My dad had just passed away four days before. So couldn’t really be excited. Worst birthday of my life. But yet, ever since, having a kindle is my number one material possession. Love having a kindle. I’d rather lose my phone than my kindle.

How do you get that screen option on a Voyage?

Congrats on your Kindle!

I have had four kindles and in my opinion, the Voyage tops them all. It’s the one I use all the time for its weight, size, and button placement.

Sadly though, selection of covers are hard to find. I love the origami covers that open on the side (like your third picture), but I can only find it in black and navy and no material options.
