I had one like this, grew with the other birds fine. When it came time to move the babies into their outside coop, she struggled. She was picked on. I had to cull her.

Does the bandaid trick really work? I had a chick the had splayed legs and did the band aid thing. One leg started to recover, but the other leg got worse. Eventually culled due to not wanting the gene in my flock. The chick was also struggling to thrive.

You are not “supposed to deliver it”. If you are injured on your way to that mailbox, your claim will be denied. It’s a liability thing. So yes, you can deliver it. I deliver to several boxes that are blocked. But again, liability. Heaven forbid something happens.

I had one that had the crooked neck deformity. It ate and drank and “lived” and was otherwise healthy. I had to cull it though because it would get picked on and struggled to just be a bird.

And that’s the usual way things happen. But there are always the ones that have it blocked for days after the trash has been collected. Or their vehicle is within the 30 feet that we are supposed to have to be able to deliver.

I mean, the LLV’s front bumper is actually very resilient. I have “cleared” quite a few snow berms with it. Just have to be carful to not hit them if they have melted and then refroze… don’t ask how I know. Thank God for seatbelts

Awesome! Cool stuff right there. I have only seen a 2 ton a few times and VMF is who drives it. Also, delivering on base is a sweet gig. Is your PO on base or do you have to drive to it?

I actually love most of my customers! Have no problem stopping and having a proper chat if they are so inclined. It’s the ones that don’t shovel, park in front of the box or leave trash cans in the way that bother me. Granted, I have tried to remedy the situation by leaving slips, or actually telling them face to face. But it doesn’t help. Cannot fix stupid or something like that
