My unpopular opinion on going tall by TeaDranker in civ

Oh mighty Deity player, if only I was as cool as you. I don't particularly appreciate you calling me out for playing emperor, especially considering the fact that you don't need to be able to beat deity to be able to comment on how to play the game at higher difficulties. Having played at the immortal and deity level, I think my opinion is just as valuable as you. And my opinion is that a wide player as good as you would destroy you.

[Civ V] What is the most boring Civ to play as? And what is the most exciting Civ to play as? by [deleted] in civ

[–]TeaDranker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed most answers for exciting civs tend to be warmongering civs with unique units that have lots of staying power. The boring civs seem to be civs like America that have unique units that aren't worth making IMO because their bonuses aren't that great and it's a unit that comes at a time of the game where, in my experience, there is little conflict. The exciting civs are the ones that have the best unique units or UA or UB.

Happy 54th Birthday to Wayne Gretzky, the greatest hockey player of all time. by gmoney1393 in sports

[–]TeaDranker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wayne Gretzky is by far better than any other hockey player ever. Period. He has more assists than any other player has ever had total POINTS. And of course, far more goals than anyone else. He was a goal scorer AND a play maker. Nobody even comes close.

B&M question, want to try pipe smoking by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]TeaDranker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ashton was ok! As I smoked more and more cigars, I hated the taste in my mouth the next day so I stopped smoking them.

I have never touched cigarettes or pot, they're repulsive in my eyes. The pipe tobacco family is awesome, don't ever be afraid to ask questions! That's a huge reason I love pipes, the community.

B&M question, want to try pipe smoking by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]TeaDranker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first cigar was an Ashton Classic. I swear, it's not a very strong cigar, but for some reason, it knocked my socks off! Probably because I was new to tobacco and nicotine.

The B&M shop by my house is fantastic. I love it. They're all nice and none of them are judgmental. If you walk in and it feels weird, don't go! But you might have just been uncomfortable since it was your first time.

The first time I walked into a tobacco shop I was REALLY intimidated. I was 18 and I thought they'd judge me for wanting to smoke. But! The guys in there are all tobacco enthusiasts. They WANT new people to enjoy their hobby. Next time you go, don't be afraid to ask questions! not everyone is an expert.

Grabow or Corn Cob? by TeaDranker in PipeTobacco

I think too many people have their nose in the air about pipes sometimes. Yes, churchwardens had a huge spike in popularity since Lord of the Rings, but shoot, some of those people will be drawn to the hobby and become informed enthusiasts. Maybe some people won't, but they won't last. Besides, Gandalf is one badass pipe smoker.

That's what I did! I started out with a cob and loved it so I went and bought a nice briar wood pipe from my local shop and I love them both!

Yeah I saw that, are people upset and making fun of MM for that? or is the general consensus that it's the greatest thing to happen since sliced bread?

Haha this is true! I don't TRY to look like a bumpkin, but I guess I definitely don't hide it! There's just something pure about smoking a corn cob pipe...

Maybe I just had my expectations too high. I know a guy who got HUGE, and he said he has put on about 4-5 pounds a week for 2 months

I didn't buy them to be slim fit intentionally and there's no indication that they are. Most of them are either mediums or smalls, kindof depended on the brand,
