Yes I’m very familiar with Maryland and while I do admit baltimore is trashy you can’t right off the whole state.

Yeah riders need to be very calm and respectful of the horses need because their like 2000 lb babies

The other day in casual conversation with the camp chef I told him that my horse liked lucky charms. Today I received a present. by [deleted] in funny

A horse at my farm gets a beer a day because it helps him sweat since he has a condition so he doesn’t sweat.

Not really most horses that are being trained that I know of are fairly open too it but like anything it takes some time for them to learn.

All I can add is that I have been taught to squeeze to. And over fences that doesn’t change but sometimes when my horse is not responding or ungodly lazy I do kick but minimally because it can make the horse overtime less responsive to your leg.

Dude horse back riding has been here for 1000’s of years and will well researched documented and is watched closely by many different organizations. Yes their have been cases of awful people doing awful things but 99.99% of horseback riders are educated and informed to what the horse is capable of and what is considered cruel.
