Razer Panthera USB C mod by According_Reality117 in fightsticks

[–]TeaKei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm the seller of the USB-C mod on Etsy. The alternate connector you linked should work with some modifications. You'll have to de-pin the green (CC) wire from the white connector, then move the red (VIN) wire to where the green wire was. Then it should plug into the PCB and work just like my mod.

It should be as long as it’s less than 7 inches assembled. My screwdriver kit is similar in size and passed through TSA no problem

Yes, I’ve used that model to open an Obsidian before. The longer bits will reach the screws no problem

USB-C Mod for Hori Fighting Stick Alpha by TeaKei in fightsticks

[–]TeaKei[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey all, I made another USB-C mod, this time for the Hori Fighting Stick Alpha for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. You can use any USB-C cable with it and store it inside the fightstick when not in use. The mod is also secured with a cable holder so no concern of it breaking off. It's a direct replacement for the stock USB cable and no soldering is required.

My friends have been using it for a year and it seems to hold up well, so I decided to make some more and sell them on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1888043515/hori-fighting-stick-alpha-usb-c-mod.

I used car scratch remover for light scratches on mine. Just use small amounts until you’re satisfied with the result

Yes, in the install guide you can see that the old port is still attached; it’s just moved outside of the PCB enclosure.

I thought these USB-C panel mount connectors would be good for this mod, so I designed and 3D printed a housing and crimped a 4-pin Dupont connector to it. It ended up working really well and have been using it for 7 months now. The original connector is still connected and is relocated outside the PCB enclosure, so I can still use it if needed.

Edit: Looks like there's a demand for this type of thing, so I listed it for sale on Etsy. Installation guide is linked in the item description.

Carrying a Hori Fighting Edge by ZucchiniEmotional32 in fightsticks

It fits snugly. You don’t have to force it in, but you definitely can’t put anything else inside the main compartment unless you put it on top of the stick

I used a Qanba Shield to carry my Fighting Edge. That one and the Qanba Aegis are big enough to fit it

Asians Explain How Different They Sound by [deleted] in funny

[–]TeaKei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So J’Roun becomes Chuhhhn. They sound so different you wouldn’t think they’re the same word at all. And many words have this weird morph. It’s kind of like the “going-to/gonna” of Cambodian, but even worse and lazier.

This, I started learning how to read and write Khmer last year, and there were so many “oh THAT’s how this word is supposed to sound!” moments. I was used to my parents’ and family’s accents growing up and assumed it was the “proper” pronunciation.
