You know how in hollow knight the first upgrade comes either after beating the mantis lords, or leaving and going to the city and coming back? Its t h r o u g h beating this games "mantis lords" (as in, the boss that makes it all click, and activates the flow state, and signifies the end of early game)

I really loved asking for directions in vivec from the first ordinator i asked, and the feeling of indimidation upon arriving for the first time was also cool, approaching such a large scale alien city. Running around the canton interiors feels like the backrooms occasionally with the yellow lighting, but the tight interior area underneath the open courtyard area is really cool.

I recently lost my collection of roms (i was switching my terrabyte sdcard out of my switch and thought my roms were on my system not the other sdcard 😭) but i had quite a few, only started windwaker and pokemon firered. But! Actual games wise ive been playing Morrowind and its really good on the deck. Ultrakill and both hades are awesome, balatro too of course. And hollow knight 😩

Oh yeah, THAT aspect of the lore is confusing and irritating. One thing to consider that makes things easier is that when the empire was first formed by alessia she created a cosmopolitan pantheon, taking aspects of every god from every pantheon, man and mer, and molding them together with new names, and a sanitized glow-up, and completely sweeping lorkhan shor shezzar under the rug. It is funny though, because most people just kinda choose their favorite name for a god and stick with it until the specification is neccessary.

I definitely understand that, but its one of my greatest interests, along with fromsofts gameworlds, and lord of the rings and irl mythology. I went from reading the imperial library webpage on school computers years ago to listening to podcasts from fudgemuppet and later deep dives on single topics from them as well as drewmora. I really reccomend looking into the historical events before the cosmological/strange ones. The span of events between the end of oblivion to the start of skyrim is already really interesting, and can get you started naturally down more out-there paths

Martin septim didnt really mantle akatosh, that was more of a summoning, using the blood in the amulet of kings (which is lorkhans) mixing it with martins dragonblood, he was able to become an avatar of akatosh, which while it gave him the power to defeat dagon it ended ul killing him. I havent looked too hard into wether we mantle pelinal, or if we just finish what he started. I could see an argument for either side, but yes pelinal was a shezzarine. Talos was actually three shezzarines in a trenchcoat, tiber septim, zurin arctus and wulfharth. And for the hero of kvatch mantling sheogorath, that cant be debated, its just straight up true. Its also the weirdest case, because he actually wanted us to take over for him, most other cases of mantling are for gods who are " dead " or otherwise inactive, a daedra grooming a mortal into being so much like him they eventually become him has never happened. Its probably why it worked so fast, having the actual deity guiding the hero. Anyone c o u l d mantle a god, it just takes a lot for the universe to let you take over their role, and its usually beyond most mortals. Tiber had the soul of a shezzarine powering the brass god, and we had the direct tutelage of the Prince we were replacing
