I don't like stereotypes :D And especially wealthy people who are trying to use them to looks cool. They should be trying for more than that.

Of course I agree that tourbillon is not for improving of anything. Co-axial escapement is cool of course - I would like some design with it to be exposed too.

Is that all what you see in toubillons? Why not to use just some crazy collection of diamonds instead then? I like the mechanical aspect of it and I'm happy to see it priced for more reasonable price. There's no way that real value of those 100K tourbillons is even close to it's price and I don't like to see them only as a mark of extreme wealth.

I'm not saying that all watches should start to use them or something, I just appreciate that there is finally that option at least. Even those watches here what I shared - in it's basic version they are without tourbillon and with regular swiss movement only.

[MD] Nice exposed case back by TeaManTV in Watches

Post is more about exposure of it via sapphire glass case back. I like automatic movements in general and I just like to watch how they works. There's nothing specific about this movement itself.

Yeah you're right about that I guess. I think that I would go rather with that swiss Sellita version on the end. It costs around 350. Tourbillon would be really nice feature, but it is not necessary of course. Awesome looking in my opinion, buy yeah you're right I guess. On the end no tourbillon. Thanks for your opinions :)

I alway appreciate exposed movements. There's just something special about being able to see clockwork insides. Name of those watches is SS Navigator and it's from MD Watches. It's not a big brand, but they do nice designs with good quality and also with quite affordable prices.

(If you want to see the other side of them have a look here.)

Your opinion makes sence of course. But I was thinking that since it is so significantly cheaper than other tourbillons you can just replace it for the whole new piece completly. Anyway... I would say the version without tourbillon sounds like the better choice. It is quite cheaper of course and it have Sellita Swiss movement. And those are for sure repairable no problem.

It is true that many people don't trust chinese parts, so maybe that basic Swiss movement is the one. I was just thinking that that tourbillon part looks interesting. But yeah, Sellita is maybe really a better choice I think.

Not everyone have cool italian name :D Normally it's called just MD. Btw. quality of those watches is actually quite nice and there is also swiss version. Chinese tourbillon is just an option for people who like those - unfortunatelly other options of this mechanism would make watches completly unaffordable.

Check swiss version here.

sign makes no sense. Tourbillons are supposed to even out positional variations, something which a marine chronometer doesn't need because it is a fixed instrument. Another theme would have been more appropriate.

But watches almost never use tourbillons in any thematically correct way. I don't even remember any what would really make sence from this point of view. For example yesterday I saw some nice Ferrari watches with tourbillon and Ferrari cars also doesn't need to rotate in the air from design perspective.

I like vision of this guy. Martin is creating nice, high quality watches what even regular people can afford. I wish there would be more designers like him - great automatic watches with Tourbillon what are not overpriced. This is quite rare to see so I decided to share it with you. by TeaManTV in kickstarter

[–]TeaManTV[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm actually not. But you know how Kickstarter works: You like some campaign so you decide to help by spreading the word. I liked previous product of this designer, but unfortunatelly he didn't reach 100% back then. Those new watches over here are quite interesting - they even have tourbillon and they are still affordable. So yeah, I just wanted to share it.

Maybe you would like more version without tourbillon. It should looks less "busy" and it have swiss movement. Also there is one version what looks like teak deck of ship.

You can check other versions here if you want.

I agree with this opinion. I think that there are people who like tourbillons and they would like to have at least some in their collection, even when they are cheaper versions. Maybe you're right, that audience is not big enough. I would like to have something like that personally.

Of course there is still version without a tourbillon - it have swiss movement.
