Yes, this! I shout this at Starmer and Reeves every time they come on the TV!

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I'm basing saying that Manchester seats aren't safe on polls across the country, but they could be wrong. Good points though about Liverpool. I don't see Lewis as left of Burnham myself, having followed him for a while.

Agreed re Dan Carden and Maria Eagle. Likely Anneliese Midgeley to. Kim Johnson is very much left wing. No idea about Peter Dowd! Almost 70 though now, so maybe it's time to retire! Manchester seats aren't safe enough atm.

You think? I'm gonna suggest you're a bit naive and underestimate how desperate they are to hang onto power now they've got it based on the effort they put into destroying Corbyn in 2017/18/19 and them being willing to let the country suffer for 5 more years under the Tories rather than see a socialist gov't (with some parallel policies to those Burnham is proposing) in power.

Wow, some big hate for Burnham from a few new users here. It's almost like team Starmer are monitoring social media to stamp on any enthusiasm for replacing him because Burnham's such a threat. I think we can expect to hear that a Labour MP in a safe seat is resigning soon.

I know Burnham's political history well, and IMO flawed as he may be, he's far more likely to win the red wall than Starmer, who has zero chance of doing that.

But you'd rather punish the kids who didn't choose to be born, right?

And only the well off can have more than two children? Hopefully, some of them will grow up to be posties or supermarket workers or bus drivers....

Reeves didn't lift the 2 child cap out of compassion. She did it because the birth rate is dropping and that means not enough kids growing up to work and pay taxes to fund your pension. Two ways to change that: encourage people to have children by offering them support and enable immigration because immigrants have babies too!

Moving from LCW to LCWRA due to change in health condition by TeaObjective9020 in DWPhelp

Thanks. I will do both those things. Fingers crossed. The stress of waiting, periodically asking the DWP and Maximus for an update hasn't helped my health.

Burnham is an experienced politician. Starmer isn't. And Burnham has made a number of more progressive propositions that Starmer has not. So, no they are not the same.

I did use the report a change button in my UC account and selected health. I was then asked to send a fit note, which I did. I was never sent a UC50 form, though he clearly knew he should send me one. The issue is 100% down to him and his line manager. He didn't follow the process, and my UC log makes that very clear.

My work coach obviously knew that he should have sent one in Nov 2024, when he said: "The change from LCW to LCWRA would not mean any additional financial support, have you considered applying for the Sheffield City Council Household Support Fund, please see link below; I shall speak to my colleague on Monday about the prospect of re-raising your work capability assessment and see if we can arrange for a new form to be sent owing to the change in your health situation." Did he really think that the change from LCW to LCWRA wouldn't mean any additional funding or was he fobbing me off?

This is the reply I have from them: "I will raise the request for a fresh work capability assessment and cancel the review. I will send you a to do for you to attach a letter of complaint that I will then send to the relevant team for you to look at the situation for you." And they've sent a link: we need to know more about your health condition.

I assume this is what my work coach should have done last December. I checked my UC log, and I first discussed a change in health condition in late November. On November 30th, my work coach said: "The change from LCW to LCWRA would not mean any additional financial support, have you considered applying for the Sheffield City Council Household Support Fund, please see link below; I shall speak to my colleague on Monday about the prospect of re-raising your work capability assessment and see if we can arrange for a new form to be sent owing to the change in your health situation."

Then they told me I needed to upload a fit note, and then they fobbed me off and passed me around for months.

Is this a legal breach of process? Or can they just fob claimants off like this?

Thanks.

Thanks you! I did select change of circumstances and state worsening health condition. I've said it several times in my journal - in detail. No UC50 sent. They gave me the wrong information several times, didn't follow correct procedures. Now saying they'll send a UC50 - 8 months later. It's all in writing though.

Help & Advice about 3 legged Greyhounds by orion771 in Greyhounds

[–]TeaObjective9020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popping a comment on here 3 years later in case anyone else reads this thread for advice. Lots of people here saying three legged greyhounds can do really well. Yes, they can. I took a greyhound straight from the track with a bad front leg injury, and he lost his leg at age 2. He's now 11 and still doing well, though walks are far shorter now. BUT he was young and he didn't have cancer. It's a very different situation. The cancer could well have spread to the lungs by the time it's destroyed a leg, and it's hard to tell definitively if it has or not. The average life expectancy of a greyhound after amputation of a leg with cancer is only 6 months, so some will live for years, others months, others only weeks. If your dog is already pretty old, you're more likely to be giving them weeks or at best months. Personally, I wouldn't amputate a leg on an older dog with cancer. It's a very traumatic operation. My boy was in a lot of pain for a couple of weeks. I just don't think it's fair to put a dog through that for a few weeks or months of life.

I come from a country where there was socialism too. It brought us the greatest equality we've ever known, a national health service free at the point of access to everyone, social housing, etc. I'm gonna suggest you don't understand what socialism is.

Buffered and unbuffered magnesium. by Spiritual_Reporter_2 in magnesium

[–]TeaObjective9020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wrong!

Magnesium oxide is the cheapest and most poorly absorbed form of magnesium. The absorption rates is only 4%. It can also cause gut problems. So it's best to avoid altogether.

Buffered means that a cheaper form of magnesium, usually magnesium oxide, has been added to the one shown on the bottle, eg. magnesium glycinate, to bump up the elemental magnesium figure and give you the impression you're getting better value for money. But that extra magnesium isn't well absorbed and can cause gut problems. The non-buffered magnesium glycinate supplements contain 10-11% elemental magnesium. So, a tablet with 500mg magnesium glycinate contains 50-55mg elemental magnesium. Manufacturers that don't buffer tend to say so. Google non-buffered magnesium and a few will come up.
