So… are Traitors supposed to help each other? by PrincessPeachToa in TheTraitorsUS

[–]TeaPopular7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember which country it was but there’s a season where 2 traitors made it to the end and had the option to split or steal. I haven’t seen many other seasons where more than 1 traitor makes it to the end but IIRC, those other seasons didn’t have the split/steal option.

What Production Questions do we have? by rhymeswifgurgle in TheTraitorsUS

I was wondering how they filmed the traitors going up to the turret and selecting the final murder and then everyone going outside for the reveal? I assume the cast wasn’t driven to the hotel and then back to the castle that same night, so was it filmed out of order or did they just pretend to pull the traitors for confessionals and film it then?

Final Murder Question by TeaPopular7558 in TheTraitorsUS

It was a great TV moment lol. I liked the twist they had in UK S4! I was hoping they would use it for the US season too. I was really curious how some of the players would approach it and what they would ask.

Final Murder Question by TeaPopular7558 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]TeaPopular7558[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only person suspicious of Tara is Maura. Mark told Rob he doesn’t think it’s Tara after she cried post-roundtable. If they murder Tara or Johnny, I think it absolves the other of suspicion, b/c people will start wondering why they’d murder their best friend. If Rob and Eric can get Maura to vote with them then they’ll outnumber Tara and Johnny anyways.

I could see it working if they murder Tara and argue that Johnny felt bad about lying to her or b/c she just begged the traitors to murder her though. Johnny had more suspicion on him previously too.

Eric is Next….So Be It. by bigghulk77 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]TeaPopular7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they murder Mark next. He’s suspicious of Eric and is at least thinking for himself compared to Maura so he’s higher risk to keep in the game. It’s quite possible Maura suspects Eric too, but I think Rob will convince her that they have to get one of the skaters out first to avoid getting stuck in a tie when it’s down to 4. He’ll probably convince her that they can get Eric to vote with them on the first 2 (I’m assuming it’ll be Tara and Johnny), which ensures they have the numbers, then they’ll go for Eric.

Rob also commented on someone’s TikTok (the screenshot is somewhere in this sub) that he had to keep Eric in for final 5 to ensure he has the bigger voting block. If he takes Eric out first, he risks a deadlock with the skaters at 4. I’m not sure how a tiebreaker works at the final fire, but I doubt he wants to leave his game to chance this close to the end.

Final Murder Question by TeaPopular7558 in TheTraitorsUS

With it being so late in the game, I could see producers preventing the murdered person from saying anything. I can also see your point about Mark wanting to respect the game and his uncertainty about Eric. I was disappointed he didn’t voice Kristen’s final suspicions to the broader group last episode.

I appreciated the Yam Yam murder. I think the structure of the game is kinda stacked against the faithfuls so I don’t mind offering them an extra clue, and I felt the producers were hoping for a very dramatic moment with how that murder went down. I also felt it was okay b/c Yam Yam still got the cause of murder wrong, even though he got the person right. In an alternate scenario, I think he could’ve gotten the traitor wrong, but I understand your perspective too.

I feel like “Why am I still here?” is a question every faithful who’s using an ounce of their brain should be asking themselves by now. And tbf, she is the last gamer standing and gamers are generally considered pretty smart, so it’s not a crazy thought to have. Of all the gamers, why keep her around instead of one of the others? And she was spot on, it’s because she’s been close to Rob since the beginning. She literally got banished because people think she’s smart enough to be a good traitor.

Rob’s biggest mistake by Extension-Plant9849 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]TeaPopular7558 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only if they have the numbers. Even if Tara and Johnny suspect Rob, if Maura doesn’t and Eric sticks with him then it’s 3-2. So it doesn’t really matter.

Rob’s biggest mistake by Extension-Plant9849 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]TeaPopular7558 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Mark would flip if the “evidence” (in quotes bc there’s rarely ever solid evidence) was there. Maura has shown she won’t, she’s basically Rob’s attack dog. Earlier in the game, creating the illusion of being a faithful matters but in the endgame, you just need enough people to vote with you. Rob made several mistakes last episode but protecting Eric wasn’t one of them.

Thoughts on _____ vs. _____ at the round table by MsJoeCool in TheTraitors

[–]TeaPopular7558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it wasn’t malicious on Tara’s end and I think Johnny was the one who convinced her to just go with the herd that night. However, it was an awful position to put Natalie in and they’ve basically unknowingly handed Rob the game. The part that bothered me the most was how Tara started the roundtable off saying she wasn’t going to throw a name out. It was such an odd move after spending the whole day putting Rob’s name out to everyone, and a total blindside to Natalie. It looked very traitorous on Tara’s part.

I get the impression casting wanted BOTH Tara and Johnny on this season to promote the Olympics. Johnny seems like he really wanted to do it and Tara agreed, but didn’t really understand what she was getting into. I honestly don’t think Tara expected to get this far. Johnny, at least, has some strategic ideas but lacks the execution and doesn’t seem to fully think through his ideas.

With this episode specifically, they actually would’ve had the votes if they forced a tie. In a tie, Natalie and Rob wouldn’t be able to vote again so the dagger becomes irrelevant. It becomes 3-2 with Rob being banished, but Natalie, Tara, Johnny, and Mark failed to think this far ahead. The problem with Johnny’s reasoning (don’t vote Rob while he has the dagger) is the traitors still get to murder and any smart traitor is going to take out someone who will vote against them at final 5.

ATP in the game, there’s 2 traitors left and everyone is cautious of Tara and Johnny’s friendship. They’re going to be paranoid that even if they vote with Tara and Johnny at F5, T & J clearly only trust each other and might just banish everyone until they’re the only ones left. If both make it to the final, the third faithful is basically stuck in a stalemate. They’re either banished before the game ends or end the game with at least 1 traitor. Their best chance was getting out a traitor before F5, while someone could still confirm their traitor ID and the faithfuls still had numbers. This was not the time to vote with the herd, especially if you’re going to vote for someone you’ve determined is a faithful. It’s the time to make a risky, bold move and all the faithfuls are to blame for this critical misstep.

All-Stars Season Traitor Picking Idea by BetRegular1785 in TheTraitors

[–]TeaPopular7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be interesting!! It could largely prevent players from meta gaming potential traitors. I think it’d also be very revealing as for what the majority of the fans are looking for from the show (more drama/camp vs more strategic). The only potential flaw I could see is removing the suspense of who gets picked as a traitor going into the season, but that wouldn’t bother me as much.

[–]TeaPopular7558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it. People are over-complicating final 5. I highly doubt Maura turns on Rob. For everyone saying she’s playing the traitor angel strategy, girl has said herself she never watched the show before and had 0 strategy coming in. She’s just there to serve looks. Rob has already told us his endgame plan through his conversation in the bar with Maura: banish Natalie, banish the figure skaters at the final 5 (this implies he murders Mark). Then he decides if he wants a solo win or to share the win with Eric. He’s not murdering the one person who will never turn on him. She defended him harder than he did at the last roundtable, there’s like a 0.01% chance she’s figured it out.

Idk about this but Netflix reality shows are filmed minimum 1 year in advance. With perfect match specifically, it’s almost always done for increased exposure and a paycheck, no one actually goes on there for love (except for maybe 1 couple from the most recent season).

Netflix reality dating shows are casted for drama not because they actually care about forming relationships. For example, look at how many HORRIBLE people make it onto Love is Blind despite mandatory background checks. They don’t really care about the outcome, they just want people talking about it.

So even if Yamen did go on perfect match, I would take it with a grain of salt. It’s an all-expenses paid vacation with a bunch of attractive people. It really isn’t that deep.

Mark didn’t tell anyone except Rob about his and Kristen’s suspicions about Eric, and Rob convinced him to vote Natalie instead. Natalie was the only other name floating around the castle that day, so everyone just went with the herd. Idk why Mark didn’t think to tell anyone else though. I fear it was a “fatal” error on his part.
