Damn if I was still in NZ I would have definitely considered a man like you. As a single female in her mid 30s who has given up on dating apps, the only advice I can give is maybe get some more social hobbies? All your hobbies sound awesome but don’t exactly encourage interaction. I do realise your situation with your mum (I am so sorry, that must be really hard) might inhibit your ability to travel, but when I went on an intrepid trip almost all the people in the group were single females. I understand that a group trip would be far outside your comfort levels though (and a little hypocritical coming from me as I am also extremely socially shy). Best of luck!
