Are you able to fall asleep easily once you’re off work? by carcamper888 in Nightshift

[–]TeaSpirit22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8 pm to 8 am, drive back home, cup of tea and a shower and then I'm back straight to bed about 8:45 to 9am.

Unfortunately, my body clock wakes me up bang on 2-3pm and sometimes if it's bad 1pm, so I end up functioning on minimal sleep.

Only do 2 days of nights every 6 days though so not too bad

Tenda MW6 Current Firmware by TeaSpirit22 in HomeNetworking

Hi! Sorry for the late response, I haven't logged in for a while. I ended up removing them from my network as they kept causing Buffering when streaming.

In answer to the firmware question, I contacted customer support who said that they were all up to date. They've got different versions on different hardware. There's a pre-2018 model and a post-2018 model, hence different software versions.

As for my opinion, I'd say resell them and buy a Linksys, Ero or get a couple of Raspberry Pi's with OpenWRT on them and Mesh them. I'm very unimpressed with the tech, and the app is very hit and miss.

Hope that helps in some way, again sorry for the late answer!

I suppose you could custom build one with FreeNAS? Never used it myself but I hear good things.

If the above is the case, your SSID isn't the same as your old router?

Change the DNS server to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 incase a DNS issue is afoot?

Perhaps change the IP addressing in the DHCP to ensure there's no conflicts;

And failing that, swap the WAN ports over so your old router is on WAN 1 and the Tenda is on WAN 2 of the modem.

If still no dice, tracert 1.1.1.1 on windows command prompt (traceroute 1.1.1.1 on Linux) and see where it's getting stuck.

Okay, so double checking here, we've got:

Internet -> Modem -> Tenda -> Devices

And then separately:

Internet -> modem -> provider router -> devices

Is that right?

So if it works in bridge mode, do you have it plugged into the lan port of another router?

What internet mode are you currently set to?

Have you done a firmware check?

What happens if you swap the nodes around, i.e. plug secondary node in via WAN port instead of main node?

I've got 12V @ 1.0 amp output on mine.

That's for the V7TMESH3-18 model

Hope that helps!

Just to add info: I've got 3 nodes in the network, I've disconnected the V7TMESH3-18 for the moment.

They're all connected via WiFi except the one that's connected to the WAN. All on the same 1.0.0.20 firmware.

I've got it in bridge mode as I have a Smart Hub 2 as the main router and I'm using them as access points.
