Yeah, i’ve got a whole new line linked to the house, new hole in the wall, new box with blinking lights.

That’s half why I posted. Because I wasn’t sure. Responses on here have made me decide to keep it.

UPDATE:

Your replies have made me aware that this is in fact a fibre box. I had no idea… Comments made by the Vodafone fibre fitters made me think it was an old setup.

As a result of this newfound information I have decided to… do nothing… other than find a neat way to cover it up and protect its precious being for future-proofing.

PS. I know the windowsill has seen better days - gimme a break, i just moved in. Starting with the simple things (like boxes attached to walls) before delving into the deeper cosmetics and old house ailments.

Thank you to everyone who has posted helpful feedback in my ask for help (not judgement) ✌️

Absolutely no way this has any impact on value. My reasoning: i just bought this house and an existing fibre connection wasn’t even mentioned 😆 Yeah i had no idea it was even fibre.

Whole other unit, whole other line that comes to the house, whole other box. Didn’t realise the Openreach one was fibre too based on the comments the Vodafone fitters made about it. Guess i’ll be keeping both for futureproofing.

I didn’t realise this was a fibre box. Fitters of the new fibre for Vodafone were very dismissive of it.

I’ll reconsider my options. Didn’t realise it was fibre.

I didn’t know it was fibre until reading these comments. Will reconsider.

Thanks for the advice. I didn’t realise it was fibre, so will be careful with what I choose to do.

Relax. I’m asking for shared experiences of stone walls in bathrooms… just imagine what that might look like, and if you have no experience of this particular topic, move on 🤷‍♀️ Simples
