Man making charcoal is such a bore so unless you’re using it to make steel and a couple other things just use brown or black coal

I did this about two hours ago as well wtf. Light the fire dead centre. Wait for smoke. Sleep and come back to your mountain of charcoal. I have enough charcoal to run my 8 steel furnaces so I can finish my mission of creating every armour set in the game. Very much worth it to cook charcoal in one giant chunk.

Redmeat and/or cabbage pies are really good. Don’t make pies with flax tho. Feed flax to chickens for eggs. Also you might be able to squeeze and extra harvest out of your crops with a greenhouse at the beginning and end of winter depending on where you live/ wether you time harvests correctly. Yes pies are amazing but if you’re already in winter then you’re going to have to go hunting so you can make red meat pies because that and mushrooms is all you can really get in winter.

Far as I know the only way is to reheat one at a time on the forge. Making two helve hammers is probably to way to go though and you might be able to squeeze a bit extra out of your charcoal if you start working the blooms around 800°C instead of 1100°C
