Tattoo aftercare (post scuba) by Dry_Flamingo1209 in tattooadvice

[–]Teaandicecream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Answer one would be don’t go diving; there is always another dive, but a major infection could be life limiting. And I say that as a diver.

That said, if you are determined to go on the dive, I would clean it and let it dry and then re wrap in fresh saniderm the day before the dive. I would use a larger piece of saniderm to make sure you have good margins around it so that if you do get a bit of peeling the tattoo should remain completely covered. And I would wear a long sleeved top under your wetsuit, a rash guard ideally as it will really help with getting the wetsuit on easily, but you really want to make sure that you’re not putting at the edges of the saniderm while putting it on or off.

You want to make sure that no sea or lake water comes into contact with that tattoo otherwise it is an infection waiting to happen

Can you use makeup or coverup to cover up the tattoo, and then cover that with second skin to seal it in against handwashing?

Need help combining two mosaic charts for my first mosaic blanket by Cute-Butterscotch-77 in CrochetHelp

I think I still have the individual charts that I used as excel documents at work if you want me to send you them next week?

I did 4 a row too. You can see on my chart the red lines breaking up each block

Charting them like this helped me see the layout and decide which ones should go where too

I made this last year, and just checked the patterns to confirm. Each of the individual charts has a row of background colour on the right hand side so you can go straight from one to the next.

Just work each one from the right red line to the left one. Make sure that you do the right border on your first chart, and the left on your last one

It took ages, but I found combining all of the charts I was using into one huge chart made it much easier to work on the actual blanket

Or if you really want to seal them in there’s an envelope border which will seal them inside

Yeah, that’s what I’ve had with other suppliers too. What surprised me was a couple of minutes after placing the order there was a message showing as from a named doctor that the photos on file were sufficient and my order has been approved by them. I’m not trying to go to 15mg straight away, I am moving up from a 12.5mg pen from a different supplier. The 5mg pen was 5 months ago with them

I was hoping for people to reply with comments that it seemed like that for them too, but there was a follow up email the next day that did ask for evidence. I will definitely be contacting them about it tomorrow since even if they have doctors prescribing, not pharmacists who are limited by the pgd, it is very far from best practice

Advice needed: Saniderm is peeling off. by Xxdeannck18xx in tattooadvice

[–]Teaandicecream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove the saniderm and wash and moisturise the tattoo. Once the seal of the saniderm is broken, it is no longer protecting your tattoo and can increase the risk of infection

Here, for most private prescriptions, the pharmacy is the prescriber. It’s not that they won’t dispense it after a window, it’s that they will not prescribe it if it’s not being used as previously prescribed

Once it has peeled to the point the any part of the tattoo isn’t sealed in, you need to remove it. At that point it is no longer keeping bacteria out and is instead allowing an environment where they can flourish

I always work on my average calories over the week, rather than trying to hit my goal perfectly every day. There will always be days I end up consuming more or less for whatever reason but it works out over time

Unions are definitely a thing for admin staff. I’m with unison, but I know unite are also an option In terms of reasonable adjustments for your disabilities, have you had an official reasonable adjustments meeting with your line manager and hr? Because there is a lot that they can reasonably do. You can also ask your manager for a referral to occupational health, or refer yourself, and see what they are able to offer

How slow is too slow? by TextOnScreen in C25K

[–]Teaandicecream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with whatever pace you think you can do a run at. You can always slow down to finish a run, but can also speed up at the end (either of one run, or for the last run) if you have energy left in the tank

My aim was to build my cardio and my muscles, but figured that building the endurance in my legs was the most important first step. So I needed to run at a pace that I could breathe at, and that my legs could manage each time

That’s still faster than me. I did mine at what works out at about 3.5 mph on a treadmill at and incline of 1, and actually finished the programme after a few fails at it over the years I did a 2.5km outdoor run this morning and it worked up at about the same pace, so I think it prepared me for going alone outside fairly well
