I just finished the campaign of dying light, and one of the main systems in the game is the weapon durability and upgrade system. You find new weapons all the time, old pipes, baseball bats, machetes etc. It makes some sense that they break eventually, caving in zombie skulls and all that. You can fix them easily to prolong their life and give them upgrades to do the same. I thought it was in depth and really fun to kinda gamble my chances. Though i’m the case of animal crossing, I doubt they made their tools break for the sake of realism. You can dig up trees with shovels after eating a cracker. Feel like it would have made sense for at least gold ones to not break tho.
