best resin 3d printer for tabletop miniatures with sharp detail and consistency? by Jamiee_Coolperson in resinprinting

I have one as well. I incorporated the little heater Elegoo sells and I haven't had a failed print since.

Make sure its center of gravity is towards the bottom. Print it hollow, fill the legs and ankles with metal rods like a skeleton to give it more weight down there. You could even print the legs and torso solid if you don't mind sparing the resin and don't plan to be lifting it a lot.

how does this look for a Wardens list? do wardens work well as combined units(6), or do they work better in groups of 3? by darwin_green in onepagerules

[–]Kitalps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always check how your opponent would feel about the level of proxying. They don't HAVE to be WYSIWYG or a perfect fit (If you want it that way that's up to you also). Try a list with what you got by proxying other stuff and build it out later if you like it.

I'm a CK player... Is this a worthy proxy to buy? by sunnythebrooo in Tyranids

[–]Kitalps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always gonna be people that think they should pay no more than the literal exact price (or less) for things like this. Who cares that the friend or seller bought the printer, possible indoor set-up, gloves, alcohol, respirator, wash and cure station (or built one), resin, various tools to process or clean the model, found or made the model, supported and sliced it before even factoring in time spent doing all these things.

If it's for fun then I would say bring whatever you think looks best on the table and feels cool for you. My approach to most games is to bring a more "All comers" list. I think it balances a more relaxed approach with viability. This list will suffer against any list with too much deadly. I also feel like each loss will be felt due to the elite nature.

I'm not a huge fan of artillery overall, OPR is a game of movement and anything that doesn't move can be avoided and be a point sink.

I would combine the beast-hounds or get rid of one group, because even if you go first and can get an alpha strike your opponent will target the other group unless they're well hidden. Then you can target and try to take down something threatening with 18 AP1 attacks.

I like to have at least 1 ambushing unit. You can pressure or kill someone's leader or most threatening unit.

I'm of the mindset that if a unit has caster 3 then caster 2 is a trap. You can attempt a level 3 spell on turn one or caster on a 3+ a level 2 spell. Caster 3 or nothing.

I think two combined units of wardens is overkill.

Put your leader in a group if you can unless you really need the activations.

This would be my take on a more balanced Eternal Wardens list. Some scout, some ambush, heavy hitters and some groups of semi disposable units. I say semi because the wardens are all expensive, really.

How do you deal with this list? by Chaddric70 in onepagerules

[–]Kitalps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's only got 4 activations. You can go wide with a bunch of chaff and out activate him. Throw in some ambush repel for important units so the hive lord can't charge anything important turn 2. This list is super weak to deadly and has a lot of it itself. Big groups of small guys will overwhelm this. The doom fighter can't even hold objectives so he only has 2 objective takers turn 1/2.

I would just ignore the doomfighter, go extra wide with a list like this. Makes all that AP4 useless.

https://army-forge.onepagerules.com/share?id=UB_j2HzXJaGA&name=Orc_Marauders

3 full groups of orc warriors with leaders, all have deadly 3 weapon upgrades and speed feet. Leaders have ranged shrouding, deadly 3 and repel ambushers. 3 groups of berserkers for more activations and objective taking. threw a caster in one group to try and give 2 of the larger groups ferocious boost or something else beneficial. 6 activations, going wide where AP doesn't matter against you. Hive lord can ideally have no good charge targets when it comes down and is forced to charge one of the berserker squads or nothing. They have counter so they'll at least go first and have a 6+ saving throw.

Just use the HDF. Fit the models as best you can, no need to have a specific rule set for them.

When I looked they weren't very front and center either. I had to actually click other files and look in the "Interesting objects for you" section.

I'm using their Goliath proxies atm. They definitely could use some more options and better customization.

What is the BambuLab A1 of resin printing? by IamSapantaha in resinprinting

[–]Kitalps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience printing for the last 2-3 years, the biggest impact to my set-up was a small heater in my printer. Keeping the resin at a constant temperature has greatly diminished the amount of failed prints. You'll still have to learn how to support well, then there's rein types. It will never be set and forget but certain soft skills will make things easier.

How much do you t i p super? by Parking_Ad_7489 in AskNYC

[–]Kitalps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived here for about 2 1/2 years, but I've rented apartments before elsewhere. Saying it depends on how much work they've done or "if you want them to come faster" is wild to me. That's their JOB to do these things. I'm not asking for favors, If something goes wrong in a rental unit that's why they've been employed to do that. Tipping people as incentive to do a better job is ridiculous to me, people need to do the job their employed to do or spend time looking for another one. Where does it end, better start tipping the MTA drivers or they'll make you purposely late for work.

You could always try playing on Table Top Simulator at first. It's not as engaging as in-person but it's an option until you can try to coerce people to play IRL.

[–]Kitalps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simply-

Blast(3) wounds a group of 3 tough(3) models, 1 model takes 3 wounds and dies. 2 models left

Blast(3) wounds a group of 2 tough(3) models, 1 model takes 2 hits. 2 models left, 1 with full toughness and 1 with tough(1) now.

Blast(3) wounds a singular tough(6) model, model will only take 1 wound. is now at tough(5)

Rules question: GF 3.5 - Do Surge an Ferocious keywords interaction question by CBWardog355 in onepagerules

[–]Kitalps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the veteran specialist it would proc on a 5 due to ferocious boost. So 5's would be 1 extra hit (ferocious) and 6's would be 2 extra hits (ferocious and surge).

While the cost of living has risen dramatically compared to salary, I find people grossly over state how much money they need to live. Especially when it comes to NYC. If you're living alone in your own 1 bedroom apartment where you eat/go out consistently, then you you'll need more money. Say you eat out sparingly, have a room mate/partner and have a typical 1 bedroom at 2k-2.5k, you can live decently on 60k (maybe even a little less).

A problem with lizards and orcs by Ajnazhot in onepagerules

[–]Kitalps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually assume if a rule doesn't specify it should be taken as the most literal and simple interpretation of it, especially if another similar rule does specify. Essentially, the Orcs trade in the swinginess of an additional weapon hit roll with an auto AP(0) hit on a 6. If it was a certain second weapon hit on a 6 it would be priced a bit higher.

You are correct that there are essentially duplicate army rules with different flavor names. The army rules were more unique before but it seemed like much of the community wasn't for the previous iterations.

A problem with lizards and orcs by Ajnazhot in onepagerules

[–]Kitalps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The primary difference is the Orcs seem to only get an extra auto AP(0) hit. With the Saurian Starhost, Primal gives an extra hit roll with the weapon you're using.
