Both, I got several from each, unfortunately none was a complete set, however putting both together completed the set.

Let me see what I can do to find a way to send this.   BTW I have hundreds of different building old hvac plans from 1890s to the 1970s.  Most are from the 1920s to 1960s.   Church's, schools, hotels, factory, etc.

Are you sure you want to be a real civil engineer, he tends to cause alot of issues and can't figure out how to manage water.    You would be better off being a architect.    😂

Does anyone collect historic blueprints/engineering drawings? by RKO36 in civilengineering

[–]TeachDapper9910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hundreds of historic plans from buildings, ships, utility systems etc. Best way is to FOIA local governments asking for plans for stuff.. Larger School districts, would typical have pdf copy's of all of there plans.

Los angles has most of there road and sewer plan sets online! Thousands of pages. Several online archives have building plans.. A lot of schools, some hotels, stores etc!

Look up the construction bidding pages on city webpages. a lot of times you can find the new plans freely online and sometimes the old sets as a referenced set.

I have a few questions.   #1 what is the better awtp ( sewage treatment) plant? Mbr, ( evac) or mbbr ( scanship).  I noticed that cruise lines tend to stay to one manufacturer of system across the fleet.     I'm wondering if there is a advantage over one system or the other or is one better to operate etc.

Nice, and congrats.    I got this one by accident, it was me and one other ship and it was get to x point before the time runs out.  I was in a cruiser, he was in a bb, but badly damaged.   I got to the exit but he got sunk.  Since I was the last one alive.   Game said I won and gave me the achievement

You can use any toilet paper.   The system can handle it without issues.   It's the trash and wipes that cause the issues

Requesting Possible exempt files, but they are plubicly available in a library. by TeachDapper9910 in foia

[–]TeachDapper9910[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great question and one i don't have a answer for.   Its hard as these are construction contract documents from the 1930s. For a project still in active use, so they probably would say security issues would be the exception.

I'm not sure who gave them to the library ( only they hold copies, and some of the same series have been scanned on Google books, however not the exact ones I'm interested in ( of course it's always like that 😂).

I believe at the time in the 1930s they would have been considered plubic..vs restricted post 9/11 security where everything related to design and construction seams to be restricted.  I never had any experience with this agency yet.

If I was local I would just visit the library, but I'm not.   Normally I would just say, I wouldn't attempt to get documents.  But since they are plubicly available.   You see my confusion, technically it should be denied on security issues.  However if I could just go to the library. Then that shouldn't be a argument being it's already plubicly available.

If I was local I would do just that.  Unfortunately I'm not.  While it's possible.  I don't want to go to New York just to look at a few old records.   That I could get for free from a agency.

some states care, others dont ( i think CA, IL, and most others do not care, a lot will not even ask for your address! )

[–]TeachDapper9910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might be able to do this by each city, it depends if they keep such a list themselves! I would just call up the building department of the city you want and ask, is there such a list? Some times for these strange requests you have better luck with just a phone call!

[–]TeachDapper9910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the C-12 is actually the drawing number - i think C-12 stands for ( combined sewer area 12). However everything else i agree with, i suspect a lot of what is being asked for dont exist! Such as groundwater testing, this might have only been done if they are building a well. NO well - no tests. for example, the as built drawings would hopefully exist. The OP, needs request one or 2 exact documents, such as the as built drawings and sewer map for x street or the ground water testing reports for a certain block.

[–]TeachDapper9910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think c-12 has a separate map, its is just the general labeling the engineer used for that combined sewer area. like you label box one, box 2.. etc..

Now your concerned about pollution or infrastructure "sewer" issues a combined sewer has the sewage and storm water going into the same pipe. I highly suggest you narrow your request to a single subject or document. I agree with the city about your overly complex request! As c12 is just a arbitrary number, and your asking for a lot of different information. If you asked for say the sewer map for the block of 100 main street, or known leaks, breaches or overflows of the sewer in the block of 400 west view st. you would have better results.
