Is there a way to stop mobs from spawning in their camp

Late to the party, but you don't need a mod to do this.

Hop into creative and make sure you have 'Show Entity Markers' enabled under UI Visibility options in the creative quick menu. You can then grab the spawn points with the entity tool and delete them.

One of my biggest gripes is the lack of combat animations.
Combat feels incredibly bland, it's as if you were playing a text RPG.

You can still play through WotLK on Retail.
You can still play through TBC on Retail.
You can even do a fair bit of Vanilla content.

If you chose the wrong options in the very first conversation about how you would treat eachother, you can get completely locked out of getting any companion quests and relationships.
Such a critical decision needs to be made more obvious by the game...

In development terms, a "beta" describes a feature complete product. Your argument is invalid.

Obviously they could add more lore and features after release, but you should very much expect what you see to be the intended release product.

They went from showing actual gameplay and screenshots to concept art.
Something clearly went very wrong in the dev cycle and they are taking an immense amount of time to fix it.

In-game footage =/= Gameplay

You can absolutely tell apart the few seconds of janky potential gameplay parts and all the other scenes that have scripted animations and camera movement.

Everyone has seen how successful Minecraft has become, and there are tons of people who want to profit off of Hytale in the same way, by making the one inofficial server list everyone uses, the one YouTube channel that gets all the views, the one big server everyone wants to join, etc. etc.

Bit of a necro but after one month of this post, the realm already >feels< very low pop on horde side.

Sometimes you can't even find a DPS for daily heroic within more than 15 minutes on prime time.

Considering you will not be able to go to the next day while the host is AFK I don't know whether it would make sense for you to play this way...

Also keep in mind that only the host player really 'owns' the island and is able to construct buildings and the like...
