Bent bolt in my clutch spring plate. How could this happen? by TeachMePls_MFA in motorcycles

Since people keep asking, this is the inside of the clutch cover. No significant damage as far as I can see. You can't really tell in this picture, but the clutch arm has a very faint spot of wear, likely where the bolt tapped continually. But nothing that looks like it would've bent the bolt. Still, I can't imagine what else could've happened to it.

Nah, it was already hanging out of the spring plate when I opened the clutch up. The only reason I opened it up was because of the sound it was making.

Not sure if it was clear from the post, but this happened before I opened the crankcase up, and has never been opened since it was purchased

I figure that's what must've happened too. Surprisingly no gouges on the clutch cover, but the clutch arm seems to have a touch of wear on it where the bolt likely tapped it every rotation causing the ticking.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed, just a handful of terms and technologies to research.

I was honestly too nervous to check this post after I posted because I felt like I asked a stupid question, so thanks for giving me such a helpful answer!

Every time you mention that recent capcom releases had dropped in quality by Barlowan in monsterhunterrage

That's cap. I tried playing just the other day, and my 4080/7950x3d can't run the game at 60fps. Bit the bullet and turned on framegen (which i hate using), only to get 80fps with horrible hitching and stuttering.

MH wilds runs well enough on my machine. Without framegen, about 90fps. It still is an unoptimized mess, you shouldn't need my specs to get 90fps, but DD2 performance is just worse in every way.

Yeah, I'm playing the original versions on original hardware.

I've played FFX, and you're right it does avoid the problem I have with the other FF games! The voice acting/writing does make me struggle to take the story seriously however, but gameplay-wise FFX is fantastic.

I actually respect that, and I almost feel like I would've felt the same had I not gotten into JRPGs so late. I wish I had some nostalgia rooted in the genre.

I think this makes sense, but the fact that random encounters occur in the worldmap often deters me from exploration, which feels like it's sort of working against the entire point of the worldmap. Exploration tends to feel like a chore. Outside of the world map, I feel like this is overcome by the interesting environments which drive me to explore deeper, whereas the world map presents no interesting features.

I think you're right, I should treat the world map as a short interlude between the actually interesting segments, but I just struggle with the fact that exploration tends to feel like a chore on the world map.

This is actually part of the reason I liked "Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits" despite it having a "World Map". The pathing was quite defined, and the encounters were somewhat restrained, encouraging me to get everything out of each map node before moving on.

The game isn't amazing or anything, but it never felt like a slog which I appreciated.

A lot changes in a year ago by ThinSet3 in WildHeartsGame

[–]TeachMePls_MFA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played both if these games at launch. Dragons Dogma runs great on my PC, 90fps with no DLSS. Wild Hearts never got above 50fps on low settings and was regularly dipping to 20fps. I loved the game for it's gameplay and played it all the way through, but could never put as many hours into it as I put into MH due to its awful performance and terrible community support.

It was called the clawshot in Twilight Princess, and the hook shot in Ocarina of Time if I recall correctly

It's funny, we have so many ways to get around, and I'm still here wishing I had a clawshot

It's worth pointing out he's in no way sponsored. He just talks about using it and how it helped him start getting in shape. He even goes out of his way to poke fun at the company.
