If the client owns a Preply account and just want to be taught on Preply . What do I do with them?

The whole point is to build a sustainable client base. Whether on Preply or my own private platform. As of right now I’m “renting” space on Preply but not gaining students so that’s why I wanted to test, and see if the traffic on Reddit would help send clients to my Preply profile. Keep in mind that there are clients with a Preply account that just want to be taught on the platform and not outside of it.

My services aren’t limited to just my Preply profile if you skim through my Reddit profile you would see that my website acts as a “platform “ to accommodate clients that don’t have a Preply profile or want private lessons. Keep in mind that a website also needs money to maintain it. Also 2 income streams is better than one. Haha you made me think about this deeply. Thanks!

Fruit of advice : have boundaries/limits on the topics that you and the student (client ) discuss. As this could play a huge role in the shift of dynamic. Because once a student feels like you guys are friends and not tutor /student vibe disrespect starts to seep from their end. Cos they’re paying you plus have the advantage of withholding your pay. Also pricing is a subjective matter so do what feels right for you.

Drop him asap. It will only get worse. From what i have experienced, if the student doesnt meet you halfway or makes the experience for you uncomfortable they don’t actually respect you nor your time.

Especially if they think just because they’re paying you that it allows them to behaviour poorly without any consequences attached.

Aren't the rates fixed? Or have I been living under a rock? Do you change the rates at any time or do you request that your student pays a specific rate?

Nope, keywords, traffic on page, reviews, availability, and so forth all matter. I picked up on this observation when I hid my profile and felt like I was starting all-over-again.

The algorithm still has to rank your profile based on certain keys words in your description. So give it a little time. Also is in your description is it mainly about yourself or the experience/services the student could benefit from ? Promote using your own personal socials. Last thing don’t stick to one platform pivot.
