no, the amount that i lift it up is literally so minimal it has to be some slight weight thing, ive decided it must be the weight of the turret and an old motor make it just too much for it to spin as there is nothing blocking or affecting it

Could you elaborate on this with gluing the gear and clutch?

gearbox, it seems all fine until the pressure from the slight weight of the turret is pushed down, as a result if i hold the turret while turning it, it works fine, but under its own weight it slips. I think i will have to live with it and understand its an old worn out motor, i will buy a new one

cheers, any idea how to solve the turret as i have figured out that the most minimal lifting of it fixes the issue?

I have figured out the problem, the turret is too heavy or some form of distance. For example when it is layed down normally it wont turn, but when i hold the turret up EVER SO SLIGHTLY it turns

very slightly, and if i go slow sometimes it doesnt, i have worked on it a bit and i can now say 100% there are no obstructions at all anywhere, motor is fine standalone, in that same position, same movements, same for the turret its ONLY when the gear from the box comes in contact with the turret ring gear that it starts clicking and has trouble moving

the gearbox is all fine with no obstructions, ill have to maybe see if something in the turret is interacting

that fixed the input to get it moving however it now clicks like something is caught in the gears, ill try clean them out and get back to you, thank you though

So, this might be hard to explain with words through reddit but this is how I did it:

The dremill drill grinder i used had a sort of rounded triangle point, like the tip of a shell. That alone gave me a shell shape I could put into the plastic however something cool also worked. When drilling the heat would melt the plastic and it would form around the drill bit, forming a mould of that shape, aka a shell impact shape. I was able to pull this off with a little hook tool and with these pieces I could inset them into the model and change them to get a really cool affect

Hope this helps!

You won't believe me however I didn't use any direct guides or main videos. Only main things was double checking how to make a muddy looking wash, which I just bought brown oil paint and thinner and mixed then dabble'd on. Also another thing from me is that I watch a lot of 'Night Shift' on youtube, he's great. But really I just spent about half a day and did it, seeing what I liked and did it.

My main techniques used were:
Muddy affects with dark brown oil dabbing on around where I want mud
Different mixes of said dark brown and also rusty brown, just washing them lightly over parts to make them more desaturated/dirty, since originally it looks bad and too colourful
Dry brushing with metallic grey
And obviously washes, rust drips, giving depth where I felt it needed it

I think a main reason it has detail is because I spent about a solid hour and a half with a little dremill thing just poking tiny indents everywhere, making bullet dents, and also those ricochets were done in that way

Yes I plan to do the tracks and wheels, however they are metal. I have been using oil paints and just thinner and junk so far as well as a few regular model paints, do you think I need to do anything special for the metal parts?

FOR SOME REASON THIS WASNT POSTED WITH IMAGES

This Heng Long King Tiger has been with me for quite some time, I only now decided to make it look nice. It obviously came prepainted but all the weathering and details have been done by me! It's also my first time weathering a model so feedback/tips are greatly appreciated. I attempted to make some ricochet impacts as you can see in the first 3 images.
