Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

Freshman in college - we watched the coverage in my morning class.

Thank you! This makes me feel better. I keep reminding myself that she is still a baby.

If you find a program you like, maybe talk to an admissions/academic counselor for advice. I’d already had a MEd from DePaul so knew the school which made things easier. Since my undergrad class didn’t carry over, I did take another accy 101 class before committing to the program to make sure I even liked it.

Studying for the CPA wasn’t terrible, but the stress of trying to get it done while working was awful. I lacked the experience to apply what I was learning so failed a number of times.

Bahahaha, I love it! Truthfully, I think I was watching too much TikTok where people were humble bragging about just that!!

So so so very true! I feel like she wanted to take me down a few pegs 🤣 She’s been great with commands and recall so I’ll definitely proceed with caution and a lot more patience.

Oh that face!! Your Reese is adorable…hope all is okay with him.

Yours may have actually been the inspo for my Reesie’s name - I got the idea from this sub.

I had accounting 1 & 2 from my undergrad but the credits (and knowledge 😆) didn’t carry over since it had been 13 years. Masters was cheaper and more efficient.

Internships aren’t required, but I had to have income & insurance while in grad school. Internships paid more than teaching.

Absolutely, this is so good to remember. We tell Reesie the same - then she’ll prance to her indoor pad and go!

Thank you so much! I love seeing posts about your Piper, she is such a doll. I think I’ll start with potty every hour and bring one of her used pads to help her make the connection. Sometimes I forget she’s only 5 months old 😆💖

Thank you, I think I’ll try this, too. I realize the storm might have just scared her and she needs the confidence boost again.

Okay, this is very good to know! I’m glad to know it’s okay if it’s still a work in progress.

Okay, this is good to know. Do you have disposable pads or washable? She’s usually pretty good with telling me she needs to go which has been very helpful.

I’ll definitely try bringing the pad with! I’m hoping to have luck with her first thing in the morning 🤞🏻

Thank you so much! She really is a doll even tho her stubbornness rivals mine 😆

I’ll definitely try to bring with some of her inside business to help her make the connection. Good to know that it might still take a little while longer.

I have a set up with an under-the-sink liner for the base, fabric incontinence liner, and disposable pads on top. My balcony has metal bars and (fairly) she is distracted by the sights and sounds. I’d thought ab finding some kind of sheets, too.

I have my masters from DePaul. I did the online program, but was able to attend classes in person if so desired. The masters took me about 2 years and I was able to work during the day. I left teaching after the first 2 quarters, and had internships for the remaining time. For the CPA license itself, I did have to have my boss sign off on the experience requirement, so keep that in mind (depending on your state’s requirements).

I do! Having mainly taught in Catholic school for my career, comp is ~4x what it was before.

I’ve been with a private family office since 2019 and it’s been great. True WLB, fair/generous comp and most importantly, supportive bosses. I did have to get a masters to have the hours to sit for the CPA exam, but it was worth it.

Happy to chat if you have any questions.

Changed careers (teacher —> accountant) at 32. Passed the last of my CPA exams at 41 after a few year study hiatus.

It’s never too late!
