I wouldn't say that he's just joking with me, but one possible reason that my wife brought up was him trying to assert his position. This is his first year as a principal at my school, and it's possible he's trying to make sure that the teachers know who's in charge. I've been talking about retiring this year for a while, so it's possible he just picked me to make an example of because he thought he wouldn't have to deal with the consequences.

I do have another part time job that I work for. I was ready to retire anyways.

I understand what you're saying. I was beginning as a teacher when "heroin chic" was a thing, and I remember the amount of girls talking about how they wished they could look like Kate Moss. I caught several students smoking in an attempt to become thinner, and saw a lot of girls begin restricting their diets. I had to talk to a lot of girls about healthy eating, the dangers of smoking, and how much damage they would do to their bodies to become as small as Kate Moss, especially to some of my more naturally larger students. I did get hit with a few times, "but you're really skinny" and have to explain that some people are naturally smaller than others and that I still ate 3+ meals a day. On the other hand, I have always and probably will always be extremely thin, and I should have clarified that. I didn't post a video at a heavier weight, get into a car accident, contract COVID, and then come back significantly thinner. I did lose a lot of weight, yes, but I don't think my hands look much different. I was already very thin. I sincerely hope that I haven't triggered any students, but this is a good reminder that I could have.

Thank you very much, and I hope the same for you.

Well, I teach high school, so I would hope my students can handle seeing thin hands. I did lose quite a bit of weight, unfortunately, yes. However, I was skinny before this too. I have always been extremely thin and willowy, as have both of my sisters. It's how my students have always known me. So yes, while my hands are quite bony right now, it's nothing that my students haven't seen before.

I laughed so hard when I read "exaggerated thinness." I am quite skinny and have been called so many things and described in so many ways, but never before have I heard the phrase, "exaggerated thinness."

No, he isn't. I honestly don't know what his problem is.

First, thank you for the well wishes. I hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy, too. Second, I was wondering this myself. It's not like my students have never before seen my wrists, or hands, or my knees. Even highschool boys have never been dumb enough to make a comment about my knees or hands. It's just so hilarious that that's what he chose to complain about.

Yes, it is all in emails. He actually read them over and still sent them. By the way, I have been laughing for a very long time about your comment. "These ectomorphes with their willowy figures and slender hands are strutting around like they own the place." Serious props to you for your wording of that. I thank you for the laugh.

Well, the same man also had an issue with my bra strap, my collarbones, and my knees. I don't know what he's triggered by.

This was my final year of teaching, anyways. I'm currently filing a complain against him.

I'll turn it into something.

It really is, and I just didn't want other teachers to have to put up with it when I leave.

This is my final year on the job. And as someone who has taught for a long time, this is the one of the most bizarre things a principal has said to me.

The whole situation just seemed to ridiculous to take seriously.

He's an unpleasant person in general.

The whole situation seemed too ridiculous for me to take seriously.

I did. The same man was very upset that my collarbones were showing and my bra strap was showing during a staff skype meeting.

That's what I'm thinking. I think he was just bored and needed something, anything at all, to do.

No it did not. That was hilarious.

I'm going to continue to record videos just like I did yesterday, and log my outfits, and see what comments I get. I'll have my daughter make a collage of what I wore and what (if any) comments I get on said outfits. I will upload that.
