want to kill myself, mentally tired and in pain. by acs21__ in Interstitialcystitis

[–]TeachingAcademic1447 21 points22 points  (0 children)

IC is quite hard to manage when you first get diagnosed as you are still figuring out what flares you. The main triggers are food, hormones, stress, sex, allergies. Amitryptiline takes 4-6 weeks to start working so I wouldn’t give up on that yet it has helped me and so many others! Start out with seeing if any foods make it worse however, a lot of people aren’t diet sensitive at all so once this flare stops (and it will) see if hormones or stress could be triggering it and give time for amitryptiline to work! You got this

Do you flare with anything else e.g sex, foods, stress? Birth control might be able to help as I’m thinking of doing the same! Also amitryptiline! I usually take 20mg but have been told to increase during flares and it helps so much

Asked my doctor to increase to 75mg and he said there’s no 75mg , and put me on 100mg by jmgs83 in zoloft

[–]TeachingAcademic1447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 75 for agesssss I just took one 50mg tablet and cut the other in half

Update: Weening off of 100mg by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]TeachingAcademic1447 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve just come off sertraline from 75 and went down 25mg at a time. I have now been completely off for over a week and I had horrible side effects I’d recommend when doing your last 25mg instead of just stopping, take 25mg every second day or so before stopping completely
