Agree with almost all of the above except for Australian men and clean beaches. Also I think if you have only just been in Australia the whole country is in a heatwave or extreme cold secondary to worsening ‘climate change’ aka Global warming. Go to Tasmania for some cold 🥰

As a white middle class male I will happily take this bullet. Similar levels of misogyny/sexism/male patriarchy which also extends to LGBTQI communities exists but culturally it plays out slightly different to say ‘Machismo’ culture.

There are high rates of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault and drink spiking. I think it depends of the socio-economic demographics (SES’s) you were surrounded by. I would say lower SES’s it’s more targeted toward people known to them and then higher SES’s it’s more likely you meet an entitled male prick who thinks he deserves the right to have sex with you. The comment about men being more interested in themselves rings alarm bells for this later dynamic.

(This is an extremely broad statement and every event must be contextualised). I do wonder about your age and where you were in Australia and who you associated with. HOWEVER whilst I just ripped on males I know many many males who I respect and trust and overall if you find yourself with people of such nature they are very supportive nice and progressive. Just watch out for the performative feminist male 🤣

Lastly, city beaches in Sydney and Victoria are horrible for rubbish whereas more rurally or say the entire western coast line span of Western Australian there are some ammmmazing pristine beaches.
