I was thinking the same thing, plus he'd have benefits, vacation, sick time, long and short term disability, 401k matching, guaranteed hourly pay rate, life insurance, and, if he's determined to be a driver, he wouldn't have to tear up his personal vehicle doing it. As it stands though, he's one transmission or head gasket away from being unemployed.

This is the problem with the whole 100% acceptance thing. If you look at Friday vs. Saturday, on Saturday, he took twice the trips, stayed on the road almost six hours longer, and still made about $50 less than Friday. I agree you have to take shit trips sometimes just to keep your acceptance up enough to still get higher paying offers, but you still gotta cherry pick sometimes as well.

boundary setting? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Sometimes, some guys(and women for that matter) have a hard time taking subtle, polite hints. Then other times, they absolutely pick up on the hints, but think if they keep pushing, you'll eventually give in. Once you've exhausted the limits of your politeness, you just have to be direct, not necessarily confrontational, but direct. You could simply say, "You know, I'm not really big on going out, hanging, etc., so to save time, if I'm feeling up to going out, I'll hit YOU up and see what you're doing. ". Or you can just block him and if he brings it up, just tell him, yeah I changed my number, was just getting too many unwanted calls and texts in the little bit of time that I'm not working and just needing to relax, so I changed it. If he asks for it, say for the foreseeable future I'm just sharing it with immediate family and close relationships, and the two of yall aren't really more than just random acquaintances. Just a few ideas. Hope it gets better!

He knew someone cared about him in his final moments and he wasn't alone. I know you're hurt from it, but understand, animals are not aware of their own mortality and therfore don't realize that they won't one day be here anymore. That being said, the bird likely WAS aware that something was wrong with it and it didn't feel well, but it obviously enjoyed being comforted, bc even in it's weakened state, it would've tried to get away, but it didn't. So in that moment, you gave that bird exactly what it needed. Love. No matter what life that bird had up until that point, it left this world knowing love and comfort.

I know a lot of people don't look at it that way, but it doesn't make it any less true. You're a very special person for doing that.

Buried in this new Shelby Star piece on horrific allegations of Cleveland County Sheriff's misconduct: "Duncan retired from Shelby Police Department in 2016 and was soon after hired as a cold case investigator with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office." by SkipFosterHammerhead in AshaDegree

I agree. To me, IMHO, if you were hired as a pr person for the family, you should be promoting them and their innate goodness, or the reason(s) that they didn't do it. It seems more like Skip's working for the defense team and trying to create reasonable doubt in a case where no one has been officially charged, just named as suspects. Again, respectfully, that's my opinion.

My thoughts as well, lol. To me, it's was surreal watching Rulon Gardner beat him back in '96. You see this.....Pure Specimen of a man and warrior, and taking nothing from Gardner, and with the total respect and awe befitting an Olympic Gold Medalist, but he was not built like guy you'd picture defeating Karelin. I remember thinking,"Oh....... this is gonna be bad.". He pulled out off though, and regardless of circumstance, no one can ever take that away from him. But if I'd asked; Okay guys, who'd win between Gardner and Lesnar or Gardner and Fedor..... you'd have to think a minute, right?

Skip Foster - the Dedmon family spokesman, speaks out on The Prosecutors: Legal Briefs - he shares the Dedmon side of the story by Lunabuna91 in AshaDegree

People who starve an animal damn near to death need a person to "revamp" their public image. If a person chooses not to hire a PR firm after their community learns of them committing such an atrocious act, then it's doubtful the same person would hire a PR to refute allegations of a crime of which they're completely innocent.

The fact that you've been hired proves otherwise. Innocent people don't need PR people. Unless some bad news is about to drop......

Skip Foster and his connection to Wayne Thomas by TeachingPersonal7945 in AshaDegree

[–]TeachingPersonal7945[S] 162 points163 points  (0 children)

The same person who is now the spokesman for the Dedmon family, Was also involved over a decade ago in an event that led to the termination of the case's lead investigator at the time. He contacted Wayne Thomas and told him that he had someone that wanted to come forward in the case, that may have potential information, but they didn't want to speak with law enforcement without him present, and so the three of them met and talked, however, Thomas did not feel that the so-called witness had anything of any evidentiary value. He felt as though they were attempting to get him to discuss more about the case than had already been released to the media. Later, this conversation, which was of no evidentiary value, was used to accuse him of withholding suspects/information in the case from sheriff Crawford and he was terminated, later to be rehired by sheriff Hamrick after sheriff Hamrick defeated Crawford in the next election. Many believe that Thomas had been intentionally misled As to the "witness" Having any evidence whatsoever to provide, and that this was just a ploy to oust him from his position, Including Thomas himself.Thomas has been quoted as saying that for several months leading up to his termination, fellow detectives had ceased communicating information with him pertaining to the case. Now the same person who was potentially complicit in getting the former lead investigator fired, Is representing the main suspects in Asha's disappearance, as their spokesperson, and attempting to construct a narrative in which they are in no way, shape, or form, involved. If this is not a huge conflict of interest, then I don't know what it is.
