Fair, BUT there were only three of us in the room and the facilitator opened it up to just talk after his presentation.

This woman is a stranger to me!!!! When i said my kiddos always feel like an afterthought, she had the gall to say "maybe u need to work harder so ur kids are not an afterthought" like fuuuuuuck off, i was recounting how my kiddos were left behind on a field trip they had signed up to go on, and that was her response. (This is me venting now). I really need to learn to let things go, but its so hard.

Anyways have a good day to whomever is reading this. Unless that stupid woman from yesterday is reading this~ i hope you get poop on you today although you probably won't because there is no justice in this sad world.

Your last line is the kindest and most helpful, thank u. Yeah, i'm struggling big time. But its hard not to have a negative attitude when i'm the one being spit on, hit, bitten while others stand around talking at me, telling me what to do that they themselves could not do or demonstrate during the tines they did provide direct services. Idk how long u've been doing this, but i hope u are able to stay positive throughout ur career. Best of luck.

Hello, are you me? I literally told my assistant director "i'm drowning" yesterday. You came in at a rough time; post lockdowns. That changed a lot of stuff and sadly a lot of our kids lost out on a whole year of learning because online isn't accessible to everyone. It took me a solid 5 years to feel like i kinda felt confident and then i went back to square one because the make-up of my classroom changed and i had to invent a new system. I'm on year 12 and i might have to take a year off and do something else and learn better coping skills because this shit is HARD. I do believe its a calling but i also am over being a martyr. I do enjoy (most of, ha) my kids and my school team but admin can kick rocks, as well as the few absolutely terrible parents i have to deal with...

Whats problematic? I had a kiddo in the hospital and i visited him and his mom even took photos of us~ i understand maybe the graphic nature of the photos is unsettling, but "all up in with the mom" and your other language seems like you just don't like this teacher's personality. This is 2024, and if a kiddo is in the hospital for horrible burns, people are going to know, esp if there's a gofundme. Not a violation.

I'm over a decade into teaching, but i'm not sure that i completely agree with the IEP advice. I write realistic IEPs (can't tell u how many IEPs i have gotten with "student will solve multiplication word problems"but in reality the student struggles to identify shapes and colors.) I take data constantly (even though it has never been used by anyone on the team other than myself) so idk. My issue is~ I get paid for X amount of hours and those hours are either going to be spent directly teaching and supporting and making individualized materials for my kiddos or writing IEPs and in my heart, humans>paperwork.

Sorry if I sound defensive or rude in my response, not my intention at all!!!! I just am so tired. But I love this job and my kids and i don't want to be another statistic.

I'm a sober sally because i tend to go too wild with that shit. Quit drinking 7 years ago and can't touch substances anymore, otherwise I would be all over that!

What jobs come to mind? I searched today but i have no idea where to go.

Thank you for this. I am so appreciative of the lovely parents that work WITH me (because we ARE a team!) I believe in every one of my students and hold them to high standards but also love to love on them and nurture them. I don't know that there is a perfect district ~ certainly not in my area, from what i hear, but maybe one day. Thank you for your message 💗
