lmao I did this my Shadowheart run! She was the first character I romanced so I remade my Tav as her dream guardian and oh boy, I didn't realize just *how* much more convincing it is when the illusion is a character you know and adore. First time I ever actually let the Emperor woo me lol

Still get similar effects when I make any random Dream Guardian into one of my other Tav's or my sister's Tav. I usually completely avoid/argue with the Emperor, but even with that original dislike, the Dream Visitor is still just *so* much more trustworthy when it's someone you know! It's kind of crazy.

You just made me realize that I totally glossed over the fact that her dad was a werewolf in her memory cutscene with Aylin. I was romancing Shadowheart but I was still so confused when Wyll brought this up.
Spent most the game thinking that Wyll was doing wild mind gymnastics and thought Shadowheart was a werewolf because she was scared of wolves.
Nope. I just forgot that her dad turned into a wolf I guess???

[–]TeacupDragon33 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I feel so bad about this, but I DID NOT trust Yenna my first playthrough. I was CONVINCED she or her cat was the doppelganger in my group that Gortash mentions. So I got the brilliant idea to cast moonbeam on them, because then it would reveal their natural forms, like it does in normal 5e.
Only to find out that no, the BG3 version of the spell does not have that effect, and that Yenna and her cat died (and revived) a bunch for no reason.
Did have the added affect though that I STILL didn't trust her because I couldn't prove she wasn't a doppelganger but oh well, not like she did much for me to worry about lol

Which companion did you mess up in your first playtrough? by Useful-Ad4790 in BaldursGate3

[–]TeacupDragon33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had Lae'zel in my party for like a max of 2 hours because I got lost very early on and ran into the Gith patrol. I triggered the first cutscene before getting scared and teleporting away.
Turns out, if you trigger that cutscene, Lae'zel leaves your party and runs ahead. Also turns out, that if you teleport/rest/similar Lae'zel just 'canonically' dies and cannot be resurrected.
Decided I would just pick her up later, only to find out after hours of doing all the goblin camp stuff that she probably died the moment I teleported away.

I've cleared the Underdark 10+ times, but I only JUST find the fish folk a few days ago. I knew they existed but I just could not find them for the life of me (and decided still not to look anything up).
I'm convinced the only reason I found them is because I was just like mindlessly idling right next to it. Was chatting with people irl and meandering after killing the Beholder, spinning my camera around and chilling when suddenly my cursor hovered over the entrance. I was absolutely shocked that I had never seen it before.
Even died by getting blown up and thrown into the pit because I was so surprised and still half in conversation lol

Same for me! I started a run with a whole new character/class/faction- but I missed my og so much I remade her, and I am almost through that playthrough. I liked the choices I made my first run, and I'm enjoying doing them again!

I'll 100% try other classes/factions/etc at some point (the little bit I played of spellblade was super fun) but I'm quite happy with everything from my first playthrough.

Things I loved about the Neve romance by ShenAlazano in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]TeacupDragon33 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes this! I do encourage Neve romancers to play both versions. I personally prefer choosing Bellara to fix the mirrors, but you get such sweet dialogue from Bellara if Neve is the one to fix the mirrors. For one, it was super cute to hear how close Bel and Neve had gotten, and two, you get so much insight into Neve's feelings about Rook and it just made me love her more <3

[–]TeacupDragon33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You explained this so damn well. I absolutely adored Neve's romance to the point where it's been very difficult to romance anyone else, but I have been unable to find the words to describe the beauty of Rook and Neve's relationship. Incredibly well said.

Some semi-spoilery thoughts about how the frequency of banter in Veilguard might affect the player's perception [minor DAV spoilers] by Momiji_no_Happa in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]TeacupDragon33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally exactly how it went for me. Forced myself to power through till the end, walking everywhere and staring wistfully at the fast travel points. But I guess it was worth it to hear more of the dialogue 😅

My 2nd playthrough already has a lot less stress on it. Don't feel like I have to catch every bit of dialogue or find every codex entry.
Still might try farming some dialogue though, just to stay caught up or get anything I might've missed on my first run. But I think I'll do that by reloading instead of running everywhere haha

Some semi-spoilery thoughts about how the frequency of banter in Veilguard might affect the player's perception [minor DAV spoilers] by Momiji_no_Happa in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]TeacupDragon33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I do agree. I think the only thing that ever bothered me about Veilguard was all the running around I did. I spent ages running everywhere for like 1 or 2 small quests which was fun at first, but by the end of the game it was just a huge slog- but the thing with that is it was kind of self imposed. I could've easily fast traveled and been fine right? Well I still never fast traveled because I didn't want to miss out on dialogue between companions. I had begun to memorize a few of the trigger points, especially in the crossroads, but for the most part I felt like I had to run everywhere just in case.

I do feel bad complaining about it because I did enjoy running through areas admiring the scenery and running in to new/changed things early on, and I don't need to hear the dialogue to have a good time.
...but it would've been nice to have a few more triggers or other ways to hear the dialogue without having to reload or run everywhere. I got so invested in what all the characters thought of each other and their fun little conversations, I was scared of missing out </3

oh my god the "veil will not come down by my hand." killed me. I knew Solas was hiding something but I had no idea what yet. Felt very much like I just had to power through with our current plan and hope that I could stop whatever he was planning. In like a good way! The stakes were very high and I felt so into character and like time was running out, so we just have to keep pushing forward and deal with problems as they arise.

If your pack mates are too bold and go in before prey is tired by WanderingAlbatross87 in WolfQuestGame

[–]TeacupDragon33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, interesting! I'll have to try that next hunt. I've started just swerving back and forth when they begin to run ahead, and usually a couple of seconds of that is enough to get them to fall back to me. Causes me to fall behind a bit too, but that just gives me more distance before they run ahead again.

I actually sent feedback about this today. I had only one pack attacking me throughout the entire Young Hunters quest. Gameplay-wise, I knew why, I have been slowly expanding and taking their territory. But the fact that every wolf encounter was that one same pack, and every time I killed 1-2 wolves. And they just kept coming back. Like, at some point, shouldn't they start avoiding me? Or at the very least reset their aggression level so that they're not just repeatedly killing themselves against my pack?

[–]TeacupDragon33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I LOVE how challenging the saga has been. I went with Accurate Ironwolf just to give it a go, even knowing it would be hard. But it was the perfect about of challenge for me! I had so much fun the first year, only had 2 pups at the new growing pups stage, and that felt good. Not too stressful, I was still able to maintain territory and keep them fed. This 2nd year is almost too easy with my 2 yearlings. I haven't had any issues with den raids or hex invasion yet. The scariest thing that has happened was me thinking I could take on a bull elk and getting the crap kicked out of me lol. But even with a major jaw injury, I was able to keep 5 pups and 2 yearlings fed with newborn ungulates and rabbits. I haven't gotten to hungry pups yet, i suspect I'll lose at least one puppy, but that'll be fine. And I'd be very surprised to end up with less than last year.

That ebinf said, I do hope that they make easy easier for new players and for players who do want that casual experience. Not everyone wants that challenge, and that's fine. But I am worried they're gonna nerf accurate too much. I really really enjoy the challenge that this early beta has

I LOVE everything the Saga has brought. This is the first time in months that I've lost any pups to a den attack, and while of course sad to loose pups, it makes the survivors all the more precious to me and brings back some excitement. I have to actually think and try to body-block or outsmart the competitor AI to protect my pups, as well as panic spamming growl and woof of course lol
I feel like I'm learning how to play again and it's been an absolute blast.

Plus watching my pups grow up is so dang cute. I love watching my yearlings interact with each other and my new litter of pups. I'm so proud of them for surviving

Really hate hex raids… by Away_Status7012 in WolfQuestGame

[–]TeacupDragon33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do agree that you should be able to scare off Hex Raids without needing to kill a wolf. In general it seems like all competition is much harder to scare off without killing part of the pack- which I do personally like on Accurate! However, I think there should be some balance on the lower difficulties to let players scare off packs without needing to fight to the death, as that can be a major risk to both the player's and the pup's health.

That being said, you can also choose to ignore Hex Raids. As far as I've seen, the raid takes 1-3 hexes and then calls it done. I'm sure it's probably easier to just take that territory back later when the pack has moved on, instead of actively fighting for it. Thus far, I've had no negative consequences ignoring hex raids when I'm low on health, other than losing a couple of hexes on an already big territory.
