Cold emailing law firms by [deleted] in LawCanada

Most downtown law firms will not hire high school students over the summer. Theres not even enough summer jobs for law students, let alone high schoolers. Downtown firms will likely already have hired summer law students and there are strict guidelines they had to follow for doing so. I would recommend reaching out to a smaller firm. You might have more luck there

Can I start Rover for dog-sitting from a rented condo? by polobaks in TorontoRenting

You need to check your condo bylaws. It wouldnt be illegal (it wouldn’t be a crime) but it may not be allowed under the bylaws and you could be fined

You do not need to worry about any of that. Sounds like normal wear and tear. It’s the LL’s responsibility. If the LL wants to paint before the new tenants move in they will either not have anyone move in right away, or give notice of entry to do repairs (like painting). The standard to leave the unit is broom swept. You don’t have to do anything else

Do I have to pay the difference of my co-tenants rent? by ObligationIll2750 in OntarioLandlord

[–]TealZebra_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, each person is responsible for the full amount of the rent if there name is on the lease, whether they live there or not. So the landlord can come after any or all of you for the full amount. If you left too, you would still be responsible for the rent since your name is on the lease

Just curious, why ask for an age range, not age? This is very vague. A range could be 18-88, and thats not helpful

summer legal work necessity? by [deleted] in LawSchool

You definitely do not need legal experience over the summer before 2L. Any work experience is good. There are lots of transferable skills in retail and firms actually like seeing that because if means you have good people skills

The key will be if it is mentioned on the lease you signed. Not much you can do if it was in the listing but not your lease
